How do i reset change engine oil light on a 2000 chevy venture

No you need reset your self,turn the key until all dash light come on leaves the switch like that for 30 sec.an then go back and tried

1. Turn the ignition to ON do not start.Engine OFF dash board lights ON.
2. Press and release the reset button in the driver information center (DIC) until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.
3. Once the alternating OIL LIFE and RESET messages appear on the DIC display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps sound. This confirms the OIL LIFE system has been reset.
4. Turn the key to lock. If the CHANGE OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the ENGINE OIL LIFE system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
Alternate Method
1. Turn the ignition key to ON with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. Several beeps sound. This confirms the oil life system has been reset.
3. Turn the ignition key OFF.
4. If the CHANGE/OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
I use the second method, it is more universal and it works for Chevy Venture too.

IM SORRY BUT THE ONLY WAY TO UNSIEZE AN ENGINE IS TO TEAR IT DOWN AND FIX THE PROBLEM. USUALLY WHEN U SIEZE AN ENGINE ITS A LOWER CONNECTING ROD BEARING OR CAM BEARING

Try turning the key to the on position without starting the vehicle and press your gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times within 10 seconds of turning the key to the on postion. If this doesn't work let me know and I'll have another solution.

On my 2007 Saturn Outlook the instructions are in the owners manual.I would go look for you but my wife is gone in it and I may never see it again!!! I am only joking,but the instructions are in there if you have it handy.If you dont have it I can check it later when she comes back from the grandkids basketball game!

turn key to on position do not start vehicle, depress gas pedal to floor three times

pump gas pedal three times once you have turn the key to on position before starting.

Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. However if the light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, the system did not reset. Repeat the procedure if the system does not reset.

When OIL is displayed, push and hold the trip/reset button for five seconds. The number will disappear and be replaced by 100 (indicating 100% oil life remaining). 3. Turn the key to OFF. If the change engine oil message comes back on, the engine oil life monitor has not reset. Repeat the procedure

If the oil light is on it's one of 2 things: You have no oil pressure, or the sending unit (also known as the oil pressure switch) is defective and is reading no pressure when there actually is normal pressure. You should always assume it means no pressure, because driving it this way will ruin the engine.
