The only reason for your coolant to go down is that you have a small leak somewhere. check the oil dipstick and see if you have any antifreeze mix with oil, it will have a different color and feel.

What can i do to reduce idel down to 100 rpm on a 1990 vn v6 even if the speed cable is not on?.

You probably mean 1000 RPM. Sounds like Injector and fuel pressure problem. Could be the control box.

Idel problem on 5.7 1995 silverado

You engine is TBI, It uses a MAP sensor check the vacuum line for crack and make sure yo have a good seal, The distributor also check and make sure the pick up does not have corrosion which causes the relutor to stick. As for the EGR it would cause a misfire, and yes the do fail. I am sticking with the IAC as a problem its a stepper motor and has a high failure rate, chack also the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) for corrosion that gives false reading.

Just changed out the waterpump. fluid in resevoir full, maybe to full, is this a problem. No heat coming out of dash?

NEED TO MAKE SURE YOUR COOLANT MIXTURE IS CORRECT AND BE SURE TO
CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT BECAUSE AFTER A MOTOR OVERHEATS THE WAX
DIAPHRAGM IN THE THERMOSTAT BECOMES DISTORTED

2004 F350 diesel no heat in cab when at idel driving or over 1000 RPM is fine

Sounds like the thermostat is not closing completly if
at all. When you're driving or running it up to 2000 rpm. the engine is working and gets warmer, at idle
no work no heat. replace the thermostat and I think
that will warm things up. Hope this helps.
Good luck.

I have a 96 explorer that needs a tune up and regular maintence very bad, but my question is that is idels normal at 1000 rpm, then goes low to 500 rpm, then straight back up. it is a constant up and down...

The tune up may fix the problem. If it doesnt it may be the throttle position sensor. Tune it up run some good fuel injection cleaner thru it. If it still does it, drive it to autozone, or advanced auto or whatever place you have near you that is like them, and they can hook a code scanner up to it for free. And we will go from there.

How much anti freeze do i put in my punto if i empty out the radiator

You will fill the radiator with a cold engine. You will then start the car with the radiator cap off, as the engine warms, the thermostat will open and allow coolant to circulate, you can then finish filling and replace the cap. Then fill the overflow resevoir to the proper level for warm engine. Allow the engine to continue running and keep an eye on the resevoir level. It will likely go down some and you can continue putting the fluid into the resevoir until it bleeds all air out of the cooling system. Good luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

Having trouble with my kia carnival over heating, now my heaters in car are no longer working, what could this mean?

my kia carnival 2002 keeps less heating when the car is in slow speed & when it is fast at 100 KM/H the RPM comes down, there is gear oil at Max & engine oil at max and water is getting low. with this i replaced thermostat, have had radiator pressure tested and was fine, radiator water is full but coolant box is getting empty whilst driving the distance of 100 kms. also when it begins to little overheat or just taking off the speed there is a loud ascending rattling noise which seems to come from the under right side of engine But when it catches the speed everything is smooth. & then you park for an hour the coolant tank is empty.or at low. please tell me what to do.
