The window is stuck down in my BMW Z3. I need to leave it at an airport tonight. Is there any way of raising the window manually until I can get it fixed?

I think the switch works as i can hear it "click" . I don't have electrical gear with me. Is there only one or two bolts to unhook the window from the motor? If the motor is forward on the door then it seems hotter than the surrounding metal. Please reply.

How do you jump the switch as i will try anything right now. Thanks

Are you going to get back to me? My computer battery is dying. Thank you

what is going on? Do I go somewhere else? Is there a time limit? My power is almost gone!

The last expert , before he dissappeared, said I could unbolt the window and jam it up or maybe bypass the switch. The window on my BMW Z3 is stuck down. The motor doesn't operate and I need the window up to lock the car. How many bolts do I have to undo to remove the window from the motor? And how do I jump the switch?

I have pulled them up with pliers while pushing the switch at the same time,it may be a weak motor or a stripped gear if you get it up an inch or two you can grab it with your fingers and help it up the rest of the way,Ive never seen a power window this didn't work on.

The only way is to remove the door panel and unbolt the window from the window track and then wedge it up with something. or if you are good with electrical i can walk you through a test to find ot if the motor or the switch is bad. if it is the switch we can jump it and get the window up. if it is the motor my first option is the only way! also one thing that work sometimes is banging the bottom of the inside of the door towards the front whie holding the window switch up and you may get it to go up one last time or get it to work for a while!

let me know if you want me to walk you throug the test. you will need a test light and two jumper wires! good luck

i assume your talking about the windows??if so locate the rubber boot going from the door to the fender and try wiggling it while pushing the switich with the key on.the problem is usually in this harness where it pivots each time the door is opened.

Manual trans is stuck in 1 gear

This actually happened to me in my '91 taurus SHO. As they towed it off, the driver looked under the car, and noticed the gearshift linkage had slipped off. He reconnected it right there (no tools required other than we had the front of the car lifted off of the ground) and I drove home.
