2002 ford escort zx2 negative ground harness

Doubtful there would be a new one available. Check your local salvage yards. Or you can try www.car-part.com, they do not inventory items such as a negative ground harness, but you can search for something like an engine to see if there is one available close to you, then call to see if they have the harness you need.

The battery has a positive (+) post and a negative (-) post. The negative post would have a cable, usually black, going to a ground, either on the engine or bolted to the frame near the battery. The positive post will have a usually red cable, and the cable will run from the positive post to the starter on the engine. If the wires, or cables, are wrong, it can be big trouble-fuses can blow, fusible links can melt, electronic components can be damaged, alternators can be snuffed out, ...big trouble!

Are you calling the oil pressure switch the oil solenoid ?
The oil pressure switch could have failed which would push oil out the terminal where the wire is connected.

You might have a broken, or about to break, motor mount. Most cars, vans, trucks, semi's, have a ground strap. That strap, goes from the lower back of the motor to the furewall, transferring the engine ground to the body. Does your Escort have "original" battery clamps, or replacements??? I hjave seen cables, that when they corrode just a feww inches from the terminal, LOOSE continuity (strenth/power) of the wire. Use a "jumper cable" from the battery to where the ground attaches: AFTYER connecting the positive & LEAVE the negative off. Makes the "jumper" the wire, THEN, see if you have head lights, or power. If so replace the cable, test the positive cable the same way, USING MUCH MORE CAUTION

Sounds like a bad battery or poor grounding of cables

Be sure all battery connections are tight including the ground side of the cable from battery to ground. Also check the wiring to your alternator. If your car is stil starting your system is at this point getting enough voltage to the battery to keep it charged - this is what leads me to believe it is a loose connection.

This is a hard question to answer. The reason why is if the battery has been replaced they could have put it in with the terminals reversed. The easiest way for you to find witch one is closest to the firewall is to look on the battery. On the battery the terminals are stamped with a + and a - sign. The + sing is the positive and the - is negative post.

my 02 zx2 did the same when i first got turns out the ground was loose in the fuse box under the hood. it should be on the drivers side.
