2002 impala intermitenly wont start

Sometimes car is fine for days or weeks and sometimes it does it 2 or 3 times a day. Sometimes it cranks over but wont fire up then after about 10-15 minutes it will fire up . Other times you turn the key to start it and it wont make a sound ,no crank, no click ,nothing .A fter waiting a few minutes it will turn on. What could this be? thanks Vic

I would clean the battery connecters or possibly change them. How old is the battery? sometimes when battery get old, they have enough juice to crank the motor but not enough to start it..But then again, if it doesn't crank at all sometimes, it could certainly be a bad or loose battery terminals..Start with this since its the simplest and easiest and could very well be your problem. hope this helps

It is also possible the pump pickup is not within the the fuel. I have a 2001 Lincoln ls v8 and sometimes it wont start. The engine turns over fine but wont start. In 2 or 3 days it will start up and runs fine for 2-3 weeks but then stop cranking. I took it to the Ford...

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor? I'd do that next. Ford should be able to find that problem though with a diagnostic.
Some dealers have good service and repair.....others not too good. don-ohio

Install a new crank shaft sensor. I had the same problem with my wife's Jeep. It would run fine fore days at a time then quit. When the crank sensor goes out their is no spark or injection of fuel into the engine. This is a Hall Sensor. They can be intermittent, and affected bu heat.
