I suspect that the TCM is playing up but without a proper code reading it is difficult to say. Why do you not take it to autozone as they do scanning for nothing.
are you checking code with a small simple scanner this will not always work, a larger more sophisticated unit may find code or runs codes at over 2500 rpms when light comes on
on 98 and up 3.2 and 3.5 v6 engines the intake gaskets are plastic.....thy crack and the truck runs rough.....listen for hissing sound or a check engine light....p0171 lean. good luck
