Kia Sedona 2003 shaking motor

Kia Sedona 2003. Timming belt ''exploded'' and some valves bented. It was all repaired and since then, the motor shakes while in DRIVE or REVERSE position, while stopped. The RPM becomes very low but setting the iddle RPM higher doesn't help. It was not shaking and getting that low, before the big repair.

Precision: as soon as I give a little gas, it stops shaking. It shkes only when completly stoped.

Check the Fuel Pressure, I had the same exact problem, I overhauled the Engine, and I spend a lot of money trying to solve the same exact problem. I made a prayer and I spend my last shot with the Third mechanic and the man fixed it. What was the problem: Fuel Low Pressure, due to a bad Fuel Filter inside of the Fuel Pump. and the Timing on the car. I spend almost a year and a half trying to fixing that.

Have a cylinder leakdown test done...likely they missed another bent valve. I'm betting it's an exahust, because it would be less drivable if it was an intake, but regardless, I'll bet that is your problem.

My Chrysler 300m is vibrating (minor shaking because it's more than a vibrate) when i'm idling and drinking gas like crazy. About 8-9 months ago the timming belt went out and I got it and the water pump...

Please use a different shop in the future. The fact is if that timing belt broke while the motor was running you most definitely bent a valve or two if not all of them. The 300M didn't use no contact or lock up valves which would have locked them up out of the way when the belt broke. The mechanic that did the repair should have had the head pressure tested and inspected all of the valves. It is possible the problem you are having is a few valves not operating properly however a more likely source is going to be a Crank position sensor or Cam position sensor that is damaged or the internal anti-knock assembly isn't in time with the rest of the motor. There is a slim possibility that when he did the repair he removed the motor and then failed to get it positioned correctly in the motor mounts or possibly didn't get the base cross connecting plate put up correctly as far as being tightened and torqued in. Do a compression check and leak down test on the cylinders to make sure you don't have a leaking valve then start looking at the other items. I seriously recommend you use a different shop than the one that did the timing belt because at this point there should be no question about the valves or rings in that motor. Since the motor was opened up they should have replaced the rings and checked the valves before they ever put it back together.

Retime the camshafts to the crankshaft on 02 sedona with broken timing belt

lcorgiat_69.jpgIf the belt came off or broke while the engine was running it is possible that you will have some bent valves. The head would have to be removed and repaired.

SOUND LIKE FUEL PUMP GOING BAD.YOUR FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT IS ALSO GOING BAD ITS PART OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.FIRST HAVE CAR SCANNED TO SEE WHAT TROUBLE CODES IS.REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PUMP RELAY FIRST THEY ARE CHEAPER ROUTE THEY COULD BE THE PROBLEM.BUT FUEL PUMP COST BETWEEN $300.00 TO $700.00 THAT WHY CHECK FILTER AND RELAY AND HAVE IT SCAN BEFORE BUYING ANY HIGH PRICE PARTS.IF FUEL PUMP GOOD I BELIEVE YOU CAN BUY FUEL SENDING UNIT SEPERATE DONT HAVE TO BUY WHOLE PUMP ASSEMBLY BUT CHECK AROUND SOME AUTO PARTS PLACES WILL MAKE YOU BUY THE WHOLE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY JUST TO FIX THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT.

Hello.. i alredy change my timming belt but when it is done my engine shaking.. so what is the problem? can someone help pls..

Are you replacing the belt because it broke, or just routine maintenance? If you replaced it because it broke, you probably have bent valves. When a belt breaks, the cam(s) stops turning, but the pistons keep going up and down a few times before the engine stops completely. The pistons will hit the valves that were open at the time the belt broke and bend them. If this is the case, the heads must be pulled off and repaired.

Timing belt gone, what next

A timing belt failure almost always results in several bent valves at least and at most the need for a new motor. You need to weigh the value of the vehicle against the cost of the repair when making your decision. Chances are if the belt failed while driving at any kind of speed you're going to require substantial work to get the vehicle operational again. Good luck.

When to change the timming belt for kia sedona 2002

The dealer recommends the timing belt be replaced at 60,000 miles if it is a rubber timing belt. Newer Sedona models have a metal chain timing belt that don't need to be replaced so soon.
