Hi all
Can some one pleas tell me were to start looking to a intermitant brakeing problem. The car loses reves or cuts out (depends on how long I keep my foot on the brake). (don't know if related) but when I start the car and press the brake or open/close the window/s the reves drop to about 600rpm then recovers (this is only once) this can happen wether the car is hot or cold. I've changed the battery but no change.
Any ideas where to look welcom.
Thank you in advance.
It a 2.0i non turbo se convert. the last of the 9000 dew to age.

YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER LEAKING OR THE NON RETURN VALVE. IDLE SPEED LOW.HAVE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTED.IT SHOULD BE 875 RPM.

Testimonial: "thank you for your quick responce I will have the brake electrics looked at. As for ideling, ok until I operate the window/s or brake after start."

Hi - I have a much loved 2004 SAAB 93 Aero sedan.

This has been happenning on my 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0 T also for about 2-3 months also. I have had no clues until today I learnt by accident that the lumbar support on my car's driver seat does not work anymore. Which means that there are broken strings/wires inside the seat and that move on braking and make clicking sound. I haven't checked my seat's lumbar support but will do soon.

Try your lumbar support adjustment and see if it is moving freely, that means it not adjusting the lumbar support. If that's the case, that may be the cause of the clicking/slight-movement of the seat.

Hi i have a saab 93 1999 2lt se with both the brake and abs warning lights on, ive had new pads allround checked fluid level fuses connections to abs pump etc all ok checked connections on abs ecu all...

i know this may sound strange but remove the brake fluid cap. on the cap is a sensor, do this away from any other vehicle and yours and shack the sensor by the cap a good few times. as fast as you can. then re fit the sensor see if the lights go off. sometimes it works sometimes not. this just because the brake light is on, this only usually comes on when the sensor thinks there is low brake fluid. and it can also tell the abs as well. and this is why both the lights are on. also make sure the fluid is at full markings.

Hi Joe, loosen the cap on the resevoir and very slowly turn the piston, you'll feel it going back in. (They are threaded)

Rear brake cylinders are stuck, can not push them in

I have a 2004 SAAB 93 and just finished replacing the brake pads and rotors yesterday. On the piston itself you should have two little notches. You can either or a GM rotor reset tool that will push into the two little notches and push against the piston while rotating it clock wise. Or the way that I did it was to take a C clamp and put the caliper back on the car. Clamp it on the back of the caliper to the front of the caliper so it will remain stationary. Then take a pair of needle nose pliers and rotate the two notches clockwise while pushing into the caliper. It will take some strength but you should be able to push them in. Be sure that you spray the boot around the piston when some WD 40 so it does not crack and or break during the process. If you have any additional questions about this feel free to email me.
