Audi A6 2006 problem with battery

My Audi A6 doesnt start and the problem seems to be battery related. I have never had this problem before. I have bought a battery charger but has not helped. Any other suggestions ?

Yes
First thing is to test the battery and this is how Turn on head lights, if dull leave on to see how long the stay on for. Next turn lights off put battery on charge for 6 hrs .Turn on lights again if still dull either battery or charger no good
If lights bright try to start and when starter trys to turn engine over the lights go dim THEN battery is no good.
Then get a jump start from another battery and put pos term on both batterys first, then earth lead(BLACK) on last then start if starts ok remove the BLACK lead and turn on head lights if goes bright ALTERNATORs ok so replace battery ....

"Tranny not shifting properly. Dead battery recently. Could the tranny problem be electrical? Does a computer need a reboot? Audi A6"

Not likely related to the battery dying. Have your transmission oil replaced as a start, this fixes a lot of transmission issues. If that doesn't work, have it checked by a transmission shop, could be anything from a switch to a transmission rebuild.

1996 Audi A4 1.8 petrol. Turn ignition key and engine starts , runs 2 secs and cuts out need to keep doing this until it finaly starts. Seems to be getting worse.

Car getting started then cuts off after 2 seconds. Its starter related issue.Either the starter is faulty or battery to starter connection is loose or got short in between. It has to be checked and replaced.Get the voltage checked from battery to starter. The battery should show 12 volts if fully charged.

Audi tt sometimes doesnt start almost like it has immobolised itself. then if i leave it it may start a couple of hours later. or if i just hold the ignition in start it may fire up after 20 - 30 secounds...

If this is a security issue you will have a code stored. Best bet is to get the PCM data and codes before doing anything else. If you don't have the knowledge or information to work on this car there is no way for the home mechanic to do anything.

My Audi A4 will not tick over and if left standing the battery goes flat after 2 days

Batteries that go flat is related to Charging Systems that don't Charge or Batteries that can't hold Charge. The clicking is not enough voltage to yur starter.Have someone Jump Start or Tow to Service Station they will use instruments to check status of charging system, battery.A loose belt can cause insufient charge.Good Luck

On my audi the speedometer doesnt work and the dash light doesnt

Speedometer problem: This is well-documented on V8 and 200 models..Check here for info:
http://millerfactor.blogspot.com/2008/05/1991-audi-200-turbo-quattro-and.html

Dash lights: check the dimmer control knob first, then the bulbs..If not those, then it could be related to the problem above...

Driver's seat warmer; could be broken wires leading to the warmers inside the seat from, or the elements are simply burned out.

Blue smoke is oil related, not head gasket (which would be white)..Most V8's will exhibit a little blue smoke from time-to-time, but if it is excessive then it may be time for vailve seals or piston rings..depends on the mileage.
