Go to www.gates.com on the lower right hand side under popular topics, click on timing belts, then on the left hand side click Parts Locator and Interchange, enter your cars info and the first page that comes up will show you a camera icon for a pic of how your belt is routed. The tensioner pulley is the one mounted on a silver arm, usually at the top. Hope this helps let me know.

Belt routing diagram for 2002 ford escort zx2

The drivebelt diagram for a 2002 ecort zx2 is enclosed. please note that the escort came with two engines i have enclosed both belt diagrams, you can use the diagrams to find yours by looking at the pulley locations or using the engine vin # located on the diagram, to find yours you will need to count the vin # of your car, this is located on your insurance card or on the drivers door next to latch or bottom of windsheild on the driverside, you will count from left to right to 8th digit and thats the eng code digit. good day.11_24_2011_3_54_42_pm.gif11_24_2011_3_55_06_pm.gif

I need the diagram for the serpinten belt for a 2002 escort zx2

The link below is to the Dayco Serpentine belt routing booklet, it doesn't allow you to copy the images so you will need to look up your car, the daigrams are numbered and at the bottom of the pdf file. This is a large pdf file so allow time to load.

I'm trying to replace the serpentine belt on a 2002 ford escort zx2 but i can't seem to locate tensioner pulley

It may be like this:

"I just installed a belt on a 1998 ZX2 and used the tension release tool from underneath the car (safely jacked up and blocked) You should remove the right front wheel and plastic splash shield from wheel well (10mm socket). Use the tensioner release tool from underneath and rotate it towards the rear of the engine until you meet the lower heater hose. At this point, have another person use a tire iron / long screw driver, etc. to jam the tensioner pulley in place in order to get another "bite" on the tensioner pulley center bolt (use 13MM socket on the tool) You should have the entire belt pre-routed except for the AC pulley. This is the easiest one to install the belt on once tension has been released. Check for any looseness on the other idler pulleys as well as component pulleys."

Good luck! (rate if useful!!)

Need 2001 ford escort zx2 DOHC engine information, belt diagrams

The tensioner is between the a/c compressor and crank pulley, below the power steering pump. Use a 13 mm wrench to 'tighten' the bolt in the center of the pulley and it'll move to release tension off the belt.

Need diagram for replacing scerpentine belt in 99 ford escort zx2

go to gates.com and click the link on the left that says Part Locator & Interchange, put in your car info then look down the page and click the camera next to the serpintine belt. These belts are not usually hard to change, the tensioner pulley should have a 3/8" square drive hole in it to release the tension, I always start at the crankshaft and loop around leaving the tensioner for last, hope this helps, let me know

Serpentine belt replacement

2.0L Engines
See Figures 11, 12 and 13
The accessory drive belt for 2.0L engines has no provision for manual belt adjustment, since these engines use an automatic belt tensioner. Drive belt slack is taken up by the automatic tensioner.
Movement of the automatic tensioner assembly during engine operation is not a sign of a malfunctioning tensioner. This movement is the tensioner self-adjusting and is required to maintain constant belt tension.
The belt tensioner has a belt length indicator. If the indicator marks are not between the MIN and MAX marks, the belt must be replaced.
