The service light comes on when I start the car and then goes off after about a minute. Also, my check engine light is on, but I had a problem fixed with the engine yesterday.
You probably need to get the codes cleared on the ecu before the engine light will go off. Even after you fix the problem, the computer doesn't know that the problem has been solved until the fault codes have been cleared.

I had this issue with my Volvo last year. However, I was told that the reason that it kept coming on was that something was loose or missing and that the car was sensing that. Have you taken it in to get checked again? Perhaps there is something that was missed. That's exactly what my situation was. However, I was able to get it fixed by going to the auto parts store, getting the piece that was causing the trouble and having it put on so that the car would stop sensing anything.
