Hello, i am having a problem with my 1998 two door honda civic dx. My drivers side door will not open from either inside or out, and the passenger door will not open from the outside. I need help getting...

unfortunately, the drivers side door panel will have to be broken. you have to unscrew all screws holding the door panel on, then pull really hard. pull it back and see if you can find an inner plate near the window that you can remove. this will grant you access to the rods and such. this is done from inside the car, and to get in if youre locked out, get a coat hanger, make a hook, and send it through the trim on the passenger side to pull the handle.

do the passenger side first. at least youll be able to enter your car. there are small plugs covering the screws. after all screws are undone, it will pop off. there are clips that secure it in place, and will probably need to be replaced when done due to them being brittle, old plastic. start removing the panel from the bottom. it will become very apparent how the panel comes off.

Remove the center console from the interior of the vehicle using the screwdriver. Remove the gear shift knob and disconnect the heat switch connectors (which should just pull out of the switches); front power accessory port and rear power accessory port (which should just pull out of the socket connectors); and illumination power cables (which should simply un-clamp by hand with squeeze connectors).
Remove the lower dashboard panels, driver glove box and center storage pocket using the screwdriver.
Carefully remove the airbag assembly from the steering wheel and the passenger side. The airbags are held in place with spring clamps, which will pop open with mild pressure. Be careful to not apply too much pressure--even a discharged airbag may still deploy if too much shock is applied.
Separate the steering column assembly from the dashboard unit by moving the column to the fully up position. Use a piece of heavy tape to secure the shaft sliding cover onto the steering column while it is removed.
Remove the hoses by opening the spring hose clamps using the vise grips. Remove all remaining wires. Remove the harnesses and retainer bolts using the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the connectors, air bag control computer and center lower covers by squeezing open the hand squeeze clamps. (This may require the assistance of another person.)
Lift the dashboard out slowly and remove it from the vehicle by sliding it out of one of the doors.

Need to remove inner rear passenger side door

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you need to pull back the weather seal and then you can access the bolts securing the outer handle

Remove door panel

Disconnect your negative battery cable. Locate and remove the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they may be hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Remove the interior door handles, then disconnect the wire clips to the switches. Your panel is held in place by snap in clips; use a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to get as close to, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the door panel). Once the clips are pulled, pull the panel upward to remove it from the door.
Install in reverse.
