Generally speaking, eight cylinder engines have the top gear dot on the bottom and the bottom gear dot on the top - facing each other. You may want to check a repair book or shop manual for your specific engine.
Hi!!
Check the Relay Pack located to the left of the radiator (standing in front of the engine) there are 3 relays together, the one closest to the radiator, is the Cooling Fan Relay.
Good Luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa!!
There is a dot on each of the gears one on the large cam gear and one on the small crank gear. The crank gear dot on the teeth of the gear should point to the 12oclock postion straight up then the one on the cam gear point sin the 6 O clock position so the dots meet each other then you put the chain on the cam gear then around the crank gear then bolt on the cam gear the dots should still be lined up with each other.this puts the engine in the #4 firing postion
