Check the fuses for the power amp also if you have a push button on/off knob it may be broken from to much of a hard press

I have had the exact same problem. I took it to the dealership and was told they could not find anything wrong, I drive it and it goes off "rapid fire" at times. A friend of mine has the same model and has lots of electrical issues with his. This is a bad model year for the Ford Escape.

Remove battery and clean the posts of corosion , also the contacts from green gue , sand the contacts , re install . Clean main contact to starter also .

Putting the key in the ignition and turning it on will turn off the security, if everything is working. You need to put a scanner on it and see which part isn't working. The Key, the BCM, the ECM, or it could be wiring. Resetting is a dealer option only. Rekeying can be done by some locksmiths.

When something un-fore seen happens, get back to the last thing or change you did. (pilot's wisdom). When you changed the part, a wire may have been disconnected or dislodged, also look for a tight ground-wire connection.
