1998 Audi A6 Quattro radio in safe mode

Does anyone have a code for the safe mode. The dealer wants to charge me for the code since i do not have a manual anymore. It's the orginal bose radio that came with the car.

If the code is lost then only the dealer can recover it. The code has to be looked up via the radio serial number, there is no generic unlock code. Most Audi dealers do charge for this. Great customer service huh?

Er. That is why it is a *code*.
"There can only be one".

If you have no pin code you will have to pay the dealer to look it up in the database. If your radio is in the original vehicle, that should not be an issue.

I have never heard of anyone successfully 'hacking' an Audi radio code....

JUST BOUGHT 1999 AUDI A6 QUATTRO WITH CONCERT RADIO IT'S IN SAFE MODE DEALER WANTS 100 TO RESET CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for yours Audi Concert radio from the car manufacturer! For Audi Concert the sequence of programming is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit.
4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit.
5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit.
6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

I have an 1998 audi a6, the radio is in safe mode. I red the other responses to the solution to this problem but how long do you have to hold the SCAN and RDS buttons? I held them for about 2 minutes but...

Turn on radio - the word SAFE will appear in the display. Press th P.SCAN and RBDS buttons simultaneously and hold them down until "1000" lights up in the display. Release buttons. Do not, under any circumtances, continue holding them down or press them once again. This will cause the radio to consider the number 1000 to be the input code. Use station buttons 1,2,3,and 4 to enter the code number on your Radio Card. Use the button 1 to enter the first number 2 for the second number 3 for the third number and 4 for the last number. Once you have entered the code and it shows on the display, press the P.SCAN and RBDS buttons down again simultaneously and hold them down until the word SAFE appears in the display. Release buttons. Soon afterwards a frequency will be displayed.

For a 1998 Audi Quattro with a Delta radio, the button combination is DX and FM1/2.

I have a 2001 Audi A6 symphony 4b0 035 195A, auz5z4y0144932 with safe mode on can anyone retrieve the unlock code for me, I bought the car and the guy didn't give me the code, thanks!

The radio code is only obtainable from an Audi dealer. They would have to e -mail Audi with the vehicle details and the radio serial no to get the radio code. They would then enter the code for you.

My radio is on safe mode in my 1999 audi a6. i dont have my code wondering how to get it off safe mode.

Call a BMW Audi, or Jaguar dealer, and give them your vin number they will give you the code, if they want you to bring it in ask them how much they will charge it may be cheaper to get an after market radio and have it installed

AUDI A6 RADIO CODE

I just posted a solution for this problem. It comes straight from the radio manual. The dealer should have told you this. If you want him to do it he'll charge money for his time. IF YOU LOST YOUR CODE. THE DEALER CAN HELP YOU OR IF YOU HAVE YOUR 4 DIGIT CODE: dd43c71.jpg

Radio codes

You don't have to pull the radio. Take your title, registration, and photo ID to the service department, and as long as the radio is still installed in the car, they'll look it up for you based on the VIN of the car. They may hit you for up to an hour's labor to do this (I've seen it happen, and it's ridiculous). Make sure they write it down for you for future reference.

As for removing the radio, you need security keys to unfasten it from the dash. They're available at a dealer or most stereo shops.
