Power steer broke 1997 Plymoth Grand voyger

Lost power steering, while making a hard turn. It felt like something gave way. I was able to drive home and turn, but no steering assistance. Any diagnostic suggestions? Something broke, but I'm not sure where to begin looking.

Start with checking the power steering fluid then the belt. Make sure you have fluid in the pump check for a broken belt, check the pump maybe it needs to be replaced

1997 Jeep grand Cherokee limited 5.2l v8....how to fix very stiff steering. I have changed the power steering pump already an it is still hard to turn my wheels

sound like lack of lubrication at the steering joints, your ball joints need greasing and make sure you bleed power steering system, check power steering fluid level.if low more like power steering system full of air need bleeding.

My power steering went out on my 1997 jeep grand cherokee limited. While trying to get it home the "check guages" light came on, then the battery voltage went way down and the car began to over...

Pretty much sounds as if the drive belt has come off the engine. When that happens, your power steering pump won't turn (hard steering), check gauges or check engine light comes on (because alternator no longer is turning, and engine will overheat (water pump not turning either).
Replace the belt and check all pulleys to make sure none are binding or loose (could be why belt came off other than failure from age...takes a minute to check and avoids problems later)

Why would my breaks and steering wheel lock up while i was drving?

If the car stalled while driving you would of lost power steering and the brakes would only have two or three pumps before it felt reaaly hard. Even if the idle fell low enough you may of experienced these symptoms

Steering wheel is hard to turn and it makes a loud sound

this is the symptom of a defective steering rack or power steering pump.

96 Saturn SL steering box shot?

Well, it is easy to test the struts. 1st look for oil deposits around the strut tower. 2nd push on the vehicle's bumper or hood, down with your weight. See how many times the vehicle bounces. It shouldn't bounce more than 1 1/2 times anything more than that might need replaced. As for the gear box...I think you got that right...needs replaced.

Lost my power steering.

The hoses for your power steering should be on the right of the engine, as to the ease of access, the lines are right there, however they're a little tough to reach without the proper tools and a lift.
