SOURCE: My 1997 Dodge Avenger's engine won't start

Try cam and/or crank sensor. If crank to cam timing isn't detected properly it'll crank all day but won't start. I had similar problem on my 2.5L V6 Avenger....drove home fine, no engine light, next morning it cranked, but wouldn't start. The crank sensor was faulty.

SOURCE: 89 s10 blazer no spark

There is no test for module in distributor, but they often cause this kind of problem. Also while in there, check the pickup coil wires to make sure they are intact.

Hello! Here is a beastly repair that has got me overdone. 2000 S10 pickup 4.3 Vortec stalled out then wouldn’t crank or start. Replaced the starter, battery & alternator which produced a crank no start...

You'll need to verify spark at the ignition coil secondary (coil wire that goes to the ditributor). If you dont have a spark tester, remove plug from cylinder 1, disconnect coil wire from distributor and connect to the plug you removed and ground plug to engine steel, have someone crank engine and observe spark.

Before you remove spark plug, crank engine for a few seconds, then promptly remove plug. If its wet with fuel then at least you know injectors are working. If dry, then likely injectors are not activated by ECM. Go ahead and confirm spark and then figure out why no fuel from injectors.

I have a problem with my golf4 v5 engine sparking coil ..one phase of the coil not working it was confirmed that is dad ...what may cause it burn at of 5 coil

Long time ago, VW issued a recall of certain type of plug cable coils, because they were defective and would burn out. What kind of coil are we talking about? is it the kind that is a separate cable/coil for each cylinder? if this is the case, those were the ones that had the recall. Maybe you have one of them. .... good luck

1988 toyota camry 2.0 turns over but won't start. Car has been driving like a champ and one morning wouldn't start. Turns over fine but won't fire. Tested for spark by removing spark plugs...

Fuel pressure at idle is normally 30-35psi. Start by taking the gas cap off, and putting it back on. That will De-pressurize the fuel system. Also, make sure you have gas in the car. I have seen gauges on these cars read wrong. I hope this helps.

Car will skip right after starting , within two miles skip will stop and car runs fine. engine light on with code PO 316

P0316 can come on intermittently showing a crank/misfire detection in the engine system. Over time you will notice this fault get worse, especially in wet/damp weather. The fault is usually cause by water ingress into the coil areas above the spark plugs. You need to take the coils out, smear some vasaline ( or similar substance) around the rubber seals on the coil units and refit them, ensuring there is no water in/around the spark plug. If so blow the water out and dry this area. Hope this helps...vote for me.

Seat toledo v5 wont start just turns over

If there is a problem with the crankshaft sensor then when you attempt to start it the ecm cannot confirm when number one cylinder is on top-dead-center thus not activate the 'open loop' part of the engine controller. I think the reason that it was running fine then would not start was because the only time the crankshaft sensor is used is when starting, not after while in closed loop.

Car would not start or the engine wouldn?t even turn over.

Try removing spark plugs and turning engine over by hand with socket wrench on harmonic dampner if it spins freely probably not engine problem fluid in cylinders will cause hydro lock indicating blown head gasket or injector stuck wide open. a broken timing belt would still allow engine to turn over as your car should not have an interference engine. If engine will not turn by hand with spark plugs out susspect internal engine damage siezed bearings broken rod and so.
