I have had 3 mobile rv mechanics work on this issue1 What I know so far is that the motor works since we hooked up a battery directly to it and the slide opened and closed. The batteries are brand new and work well. Replaced the slide out controller, did not fix anything. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot Nico
I have no experience but it would seem logical there would be safety switching built into the mechanism to prevent it overrunning in either direction.
An RV slideout is heavy and needs a fairly powerful motor and gearbox to move it smoothly. If nothing stops it at the right time things are likely to sustain some expensive damage.
Again, applying logic, with plenty of battery power being delivered to the new controller but none being delivered to the motor (proved to be in good order) - something in between must be stopping it and that something is probably some sort of safety device...
SOURCE: Sunroof won't close
clean the runners on the sunroof watching out for trapped debris. try lubricating the runners with a fine lubricant with a clothe, make sure no debris caught in motor also.
SOURCE: My sunroof has opened and now it won't close. Any clues?
hi sounds like a faulty sunroof relay keeping the motor running it may well have blown the fuse or burned the motor out if you connected it back up and it doesn,t work at all but should be able to turn the sunroof back manually look on the sunroof motor there should be sometthing like a slot for a large screwdriver or a bolt head of sorts just wind it back and then check the relays and fuses if your switch is a electronic one make a make shift one and try [simple switch]on and off as this is delicate circiutery and the slightest short can destroy it best of luck yates210456

Have you tried spraying a little silicone spray in the tracks where the window slides just to make its job a little easier?
SOURCE: Door will close but latch will not lock
I have this problem as well. The latch is getting stuck. I haven't been able to fix it permanently but you can get it to latch if you hit the door by the handle. It will release the latch and allow it to latch when you close the door.
