If the alternator is not charging properly it may be sending greater pulse width signals to the injectors to help the low charge issue .

I have a honda accord 1990 ex carburator vitesse engine f20A.. transformed to carburator automatic .but ihave a problem a slow acceleration and high fuel consumption how can i fix this 2 problems?

Check your timing belt, when I changed mine the pick up increased drastically and the mileage was increased. Remember though that any honda will do better if you do a more gradual increase in acceleration.

2007 Honda Pilot VSA light came on at a low RPM & vehicle started bucking. Turn on and off to reset. Honda technician recommended Motor Honey to increase viscosity and oil pressure. Is this safe?

Down side is this is a band aid approach and doesn't fix the problem. Sounds like you need to find a new service technician. I would drop the oil pan and replace the oil pump and clean the screen if not replace the screen.

07 honda pilot where is fuel filter

I don't know where all these other dipsh!ts got their info but on a Honda PILOT the fuel filter is located in the fuel tank only. And is supposed to be non-serviceable. There is no filter on the firewall.

I have a honda civic 97,if i place a turbo charger,will it make the fuel consumption efficient?how's the performance?tnx.

The fuel consumption will increase because of the increased horsepowers
How efficient would it be? that depends on how well the ECU will be adjusted (hondata)

Does exhaust leakage result in more fuel consumption? If it does how?

HI. In a way, yes. The increase is slight and not very much. it all depends on how you drive your vehicle under this type of condition.

Basically; the nature of a modern exhaust assembly is very restrictive, due to the emissions standards of today's laws. When a exhaust leak occurs, this will cause a slight relief of the restricted nature of the system, thus, allowing the engine to "slightly" breath a bit more. This state will increase the HP rate, slightly, thus, causing a small increase in fuel consumption. It will also cause the sound of the exhaust system to increase, slightly, as well.

The increase of HP and fuel consumption is very small, and it will not be noticed. You may only notice the difference in the sound of the engine, but that is about it.

Changed battery on 16v megan 1999 now wont go above 40 m per hr missfires- no power - smells of fuel- the whole car shakes when trying to increase speed fuel consumption has dropped from 44 to 20 mpg. was...

removing the battery causes the computer to de-program. With the engine and ignition swith off, try removing the negative battery cable. Wait a while then replace it. Wait only a minute or 2. This will reprogram the computer . You may have to repeat the process a couple of times. If not the idle position sensor could be the problem.

High gas mileage (15- 20 l per 100km)

try changing the oil also it will cause the engine to burn more fuel with bad oil because it gets hot and evaporates it alot more

Fuel Consumption

Hi,

A Honda Accord is a full size car/heavy and therefore would have high gas consumption, probably around 8~10 Km/L city driving. Highway would roughly be 10~12 depending on your driving habits.

A full tune-up of course would help which may include but not be limited to change of sparkplugs, adding car/injector cleaner to the tank, checking/replacing the air cleaner, double checking/cleaning/replacing the MAF (if it has got one).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
