Late model intelligent windows might need a dealer intervention.

Usual way to reset auto windows is to open the window and hold the switch in the down position for several seconds (often a subdued click will be heard) and then raise the window holding the switch in the up position for several seconds or until the click is heard.

SOURCE: VW Beetle the drivers side window goes half way up but stops

sounds like you have a bad regulator. this is caused by the cables in the regulator becomming dry and start to bind up and then break causing the window to free fall down.

SOURCE: the drivers side window auto up/down quit

1. Start the car and leave it idle.
2. Hold the window button down all the way, until the window is completely down.
3. Let go and push it down again and hold the window button for 2 to 3 seconds then let go. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)
4. Pull up on the window button and roll the window up until it is all the way up, when it is up let go.
5. Pull the button up again for 2 to 3 seconds. (You should be able to hear or feel (very faintly) the motor/sensor reset.)

SOURCE: power window on XC90 wont stay up on 'auto-up'??

Put the window down all the way and then hold the switch up, hold it until the window closes all the way up, and continue to hold it for about 10 sec. after the window is closed. Try this a few times, but if this does not work you will will probably have to take it to the dealer. They will have to do this for you with the Volvo computer scanner, this is covered under warranty if you are still with in by millage if not they will charge around 50 dollars.

SOURCE: How to reset the electric windows "Auto" function - battery exch.

Dear Madam or Sir,

you re-initialise the system by moving the window upwards and hold the button for four seconds. Then move down the window and hold the button for another four seconds. Turn ignition off , wait two seconds. Now the auto function should be operable.

My window goes back down to half way when i wind up with the auto fuction

what kind of vehicle? Usually when that happens either the window glass it rubbing against the stops or stabilizers and the window thinks there is something in the way and is stopping. Sometimes the auto function is out of sequence. Try pushing the up button and holding it for a few seconds and then auto it down. That might solve the sequence problem.

I have a 2010 Toyota Camry with a front passenger window problem. The window goes up and comes right back down sometimes when I push the button to roll the window up. The window will finally stay up...

Hello Susan..... What you are experiencing is the jam protection function: During automatic
closing operation, the window stops and opens half way if something gets caught
between the window and window frame. If the window receives a strong impact,
this function may work even if nothing is caught.

If the power window does not operate automatically or the jam protection function does not operate correctly, you should normalize the power window
To normalize the power window:
1. Push down the power window switch and lower the windows fully.
2. Pull up the switch until the windows close and hold the switch for a second. Make sure that the window open and close automatically. If the power windows cannot be operated properly, have it
checked by your dealer.

Front passenger power window does not work properly.

Take it to an Auto glass place and they can fix that problem.
If your going to try it you need to remove the inside door panel and look at the window rail fram and check the fasteners that hold the glass to the mounting brace. Inspect the guild rails for the window for any damages and worn parts.
After inspecting and re tighten all the nut's and bolts and glass lines up. Just put things back together like new. Good luck and buy new door clips for the panel since they break easy.

Front windows don't roll down

Yes, the power window switch is often faulty, because there is some sensitive electronic making that "auto rolled down".
The 4x-switch is quite expensive, 260EUR =(
So, I make some new connection. The faulty electronic is only for front windows, so now I connect wires so that I can use front windows with read window switch.
(Rear windows is still working by those 2xback window switch) which is located between seats.

Here is the conncection, at one's own risk.

That 4x-window switch has 14-pins connector:
Connect the back windows wires 8(blue/white), 9(red/black), 1 (grey/blac ), 2 t(green/white) to the ground wire 4 (black).

Front windows wires
14(blue)->8
13(white)->9
3(white/violet)->2
7(black/blue)->1

If the manufacturer didn't use that "auto rolled down" function, there is no worries of power windows.

Also illumination of 4x-switch goes down quite soon, leds will be better. Here is a photo if you like replace bulbs to leds:

Power windows

First off does the window switch on the passenger side? if it does then you may just need the drivers side window switch. The front and the back windows work seperate from each other.
