I have an Amigo value shopper that is not wanting to charge. What do I check to find out what part of the charging system is bad.

I work as a general maintenance technician for Walmart. One of their Amigo electric shopping is not wanting to charge. I need to find out what part has gone bad to order new part.

I would go to their site and look at their repair test videos. Check batteries first then maybe look for a short or dirty/broken wire connections.

SOURCE: troubleshooting charging system problem

First need to know what type and make of car you have.
most likely not on the problem in the door being any relation to the charging system as this is a seperate system.
and as for the alternator putting out voltage, if you put a volt meter to the lug on the back it should read about 14 volts, however this is not set in stone. you will also have to have the proper amps comins out.
I would take the vehicle to someplace like autozone and have a check done on the battery and charging system as they do this for free. As long as both check then you most likely have a wiring problem from alternator to battery issue.

SOURCE: 2001 Lincoln LS electrical system SHUTDOWN

change the drive belt and have the voltage regulator in the back of the alternator checked out and also check for any draws on the car anywhere cause this can cause the alternator to over charge trying to keep the battery charged up

SOURCE: Check charging system

So you have a new alternator. I S IT CHARGING ? If the answer is yes , and the battery still dies, I would say there is a 12 volt drain in the electrical system. Hope this helps

SOURCE: charging system

Check/test all charging system components. Have battery tested; check cables for good connection and corrosion; check belt for looseness or cracks; even if you just bought a new alternator, it could still be bad. There are alot of shops and parts stores that will check your charging system for free.
If it's discharging when vehicle is just sitting, probably a bad ground or loose wire somewhere.

1999 Isuzu Amigo V6 4WD- Bought a new battery, the vehicle started to shut down while in drive. Eventually I couldn't get it to start. At first it will click but nothing after a couple times (although...

First, you can't drive a vehicle around long enough to fully restore a battery because the vehicle charging system is incapable of doing that - it is designed to keep a fully charged battery, fully charged and it doesn't do that very well, especially when the battery ages.
The terminal voltage of the normal lead acid battery rises quickly and the charging system thinks this means the battery is charged and reduces the charge rate to that known as a trickle charge.

To fully charge a fair-sized battery with a trickle charge can take a week or longer and nobody drives constantly for that long...

When the dashboard voltmeter rises, it is relatively meaningless as an indication of battery condition and it is only valid when the vehicle has been parked switched off for a few hours - switch on and without starting the engine allow the reading to settle and if it is accurate it will indicate the true state of the battery...

A charging system that doesn't produce the off-load regulated voltage almost instantly and continue to maintain a good voltage while supplying current for all the vehicle equipment is defective.

Hi, my 1994 Isuzu Amigo keeps blowing the #8 engine, back left fuse when I turn the key on. The car will not crank. Anyone have any ideas?

You need an auto electrician to find and fix the short to ground. They come to you and it is less expensive than a garage. Their professional scan tool computer can diagnose electrics.

Ac is cooling on the passenger side only

Your problem is most likely a low refrigerant charge. You can go to your local parts store and buy a can of refrigerant (R134a) that has a connector on the can .Connect the can to the low side of the a/c system (There are 2 places to connect to the a/c system this is defined as the one hose that is larger of the 2 as a general rule the smaller side being the high side) start the engine and keep checking the cooling vent on the drivers side and it will slowly get cooler throughout the system."Important" make sure it is cool enough(like the passenger side)you do not want to under charge it after you retain the desired temperature throughout the a/c system stop the engine disconnect charge line and replace cap do not use the whole can unless nessasary or use an additional can as needed if necessary but the thing is to not under or over charge the system.I am confident this will work.

2000 V-6 Isuzu Amigo recent new battery recent new alternator new fan belt new pulley great for 6mos, now doesn't start...no lights, nothing

have your battery tested and charged/replaced as neccessary. test your charging system for 13.5- 14.7 volts. i know they are fairly new but electrical componenets can fail in half a second. dont rely on them being new. check them anyways.

Some of the warning lights stay on.

so all the lights that come on when you first turn the key on stay on? maybe your alternator is not working properly? or not connecting to your dash panel correctly? or maybe the engine management system has a fault in it? more likely to be a dodgy connection to your dash board.
