2001 Lincoln LS: CD Changer wont eject CD's. Keeps saying CD ERROR when I press eject then select any of the 6 CDs. Also, it says slots full when I press load and press any of the 6 CDs. I just bought the car last week so I'm not sure if there actually is any CDs in the changer. I pulled out the fuse and waited 40 mins and that didnt work and I also disconnected the battery for 30 mins and that didnt work either. I need to take out the CD Changer from the dash but dont know how. Can anyone help or give any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

this means the cd mechanism is defective. Try to find a replacement.
If you try a salvage yard, you may find a bargain. I wouldn't get the radio from the dealer unless I had a lot of money to throw around for it.
It probably costs over $800 for the radio from there.
Salvage yards cost probably less than 1/4 that.
This happens to me as well, usually if you press and hold the eject button all of the cd's will be ejected. A couple of times I had to use another cd to kind of slide underneath the stuck cd to assist with it ejecting while I pressed the eject button.
My father inlaw just purchased a 2001 lincoln, with a six disc changer, Question is he loaded the unit ,and now he wants to eject the cd's and the changer won't open? any suggestions thanks
One common solution is to disconnect the negative battery cable for 10minutes. When you reconnect, the stereo should reset itself and allow you to eject your CD's . Best of luck!
