My Toyota noah engine overheat and engine just cut out and the car will not start now. Had check head gasket and check oil dipstick for oil and water mix but it's fine. Did replace the thermostat, waterpump and plugs but still the same. When I turn key the fan starts running. What else can I check to find this problem ?

SOURCE: water in oil

I have yet to see a cracked head on a 22R,so more than likely a blown head gasket, unless you overheated and warped the head and worst case a hole between the cylinder wall and water jacket(this is pretty rare). The only way to tell short of using some expensive tools or taking to your local shop is to pull the head and inspect the gasket for leakage wich is generally fairly obvious(separation of the gasket layers, oil and water between water and oil passages)and checking the head deck for warpage. If there is obvious leakage in the gasket you're looking at a top end gasket set if the head is slightly warped you can get away with a thick graphite head gasket,I personally use these as they are very forgiving on slightly warped and scratched head decks and inepensive also, but a severly warped head will require milling at a machine shop or replacement.

SOURCE: nissan sentra n16 temp. overheating

If all of the things you replaced are working fine I am going to say double check the thermostat. Also make sure your fan is engaging at temp. You cam check by running till warm and then running the AC. If the car does not overheat with the AC on then your fan is not running under normal conditions (with AC off) This can be caused by a couple of different things depending on how the fan is set up. I am not a nissan expert

SOURCE: 97 chrysler lhs overheats

Head gaskets don't cause overheating Usually they are a result of overheating. If the headgasket is bad one wil get leaking into the cylinders of coolant, which wil show up as milky oil.Like some one else stated ; have the radiator rodded out,(cleaned and fluashed).

Why is there water around the spark plugs?

There's either a big loss of coolant from somewhere such as a hose or cylinder head.

It could also be a faulty cylinder head gasket/cylinder head.

Does the car overheat? Overheating is a symptom of head problems as is loss of power.

Check the coolant level - has it dropped?
Start the engine and see if any air bubbles appear in the coolant. If so, it probably is caused by exhaust gas leaking through the head/head gasket into the cooling system.

Check your engine oil dipstick. If the oil is a greyish/creamy colour that indicates coolant has found its way into the oil system. Cylinder head problem ..

Get somebody to check your car for you. Don't drive it if there's suspected head problems - you'll cause more damage

My problem is toyota 2lt engine oil in water the oil is clean

Check the engine's oil dipstick. Brown, bubbly oil or any inconsistencies or traces of water on the dipstick can be symptoms of a severe head gasket failure. Have the car's engine checked right away. god bless!

Car is overheating and ive replaced waterpump an thermo? After driving for longer than 15-20minutes it starts to overheat and can hear water from the coolant box boiling. The fans on the radiator are...

You may want to check the engine block for a crack or the heads for a blown head gasket. This will allow water to enter the engine. Pull the dipstick and check if you have water in the oil. The oil will look milky if you do. If this is not the case, you may wish to check the radiator for rust and flush the system. It may be that water is not circulating properly through the system and is sitting idle in the block.

Toyota tazz 1300 problem. My toyota tazz 1999 is using a lot of water but has not started overheating people says it has started mixing oil with water. what could be the problem? Ajax

have you checked your oil by pulling the dipstick? does it look deep brown?if so. there is water or coolant present in engine!!do not run the engine.if you see brown sludge on the oil dipstick, there is a blown head gasket.if you open your radiator and you see oil floating in there, suggest a blown head gasket.if you have oil or antifreeze coming out of exhaust, you have a blown head gasket in the motor.oil mixing with the water is never a good thing motor wise. suggest you not run the engine until you get a pro. to see,or you run risk of loosing engine.hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com we are here always to assist the people that want to know for sure,

Toyota Noah overheating

hi the problem you are having could be down to a few problems, now the first thing i would try is the thermostat you can remove this and place it in boiling water to test if it opens up or not if it dont open up the getting this replaced should solve your problem.

now another thing that could be causing you problems is going to be the water pump now if the bearing has gone it wont be pumping the water properly and this can cause the engine to over heat, it can also over heat if the water pump is leaking and letting in air as the air would cause an air lock and the water would not circulate around the cooling system properly.

you should be able to test the thermostat by trying the heater in the car if you get the engine warm then turn the heater on to hot if the air comes out cold then this indicates the thermostat is stuck in closed possition.

your problem could also be water leak so check your coolant level and see if you are losing any water.

another cause could be that your fan is not cutting in when it should you can test this by leaving your car parked up with the engine running and then when the temp reaches near the red or top of the gauge the fan should cut in and then this should cool the coolant and bring the temp down.

I know you say you have had the head gasket checked but check the oil for signs of water take out he oil level stick and check for signs of a whitish liquid like mayonaise if this is present then this points towards head gasket failure.

I hope i have given you some things to check and look for, you should find your problem if you check the things i have told you, if your fan dont cut in then you need to replace the switch that powers the fan so if you follow the wires from the fan they will go to a switch on the engine's coolant system so if your engine boils up before the fan cuts in then this switch will need replacing.

please bare in mind that the engine over heating can cause the head gasket to fail and even worse it can crack the head, so you need to find the fault as soon as you can to prevent further damage being done to your engine

Car was over heating and now wont start

The 190 and 300's with the 2.6 and 3.0 l engines have a known head gasket failure (the oil and water passages were too close and the gasket would leak allowing water into the oil), that eventually meant upper engine dissambly at 125 to 150k miles. You didn't say if you have the 4 or 6 cylinder, but check your coolant reservoir for any grey, dark floating gunk. Next, check your oil...is there a brownish foamy looking oil on the dipstick? Not a good sign if so. With water in the engine's cylinders the car won't start and will need to have the head machined. Sorry, but there is no quick and cheap fix to this problem.

HAVE A 92 TOYOTA CAMARY, IT DID NOT OVERHEAT,,

YES i think he could correct as the white smoke IS infact water or steam coming out after you have burnt it in 1 of your cylinders,,Do you get a missing in the engine and either running on 3or les cylinders ..and also when you check the dipstick do you have water beeds on the stick and white sludge under the oil filler cap if yes then you want ti get the engine rebuilt or head done NOW dont leave it to long as the inside parts will go rusty and then its a throwaway job and if it boiles to oftern then the engine will have it be replaced.. SORRY ABOUT THE BAD NEW BUT THATS LIFE
Let me know how you get on Ron
