Volvo v50 2.0D with a cold start problem

My volvo v50 2.0D, 2008 edition, seems to have a cold start problem. It happens each time when the car has been parked for more then 10 minutes. First time I turn the key to start position the engine ''shakes'' and do not start. Second time it always starts without any trouble. This problem started two weeks ago. The car is parked in a garage and it is now dry and warm weather.

2008 Volvo XC90. Where is Bank 1 Sensor 2 please.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to sub category.

Generic answer for all vehicles with two banks.

Bank 1 means it is at the engine side with cylinders 1, 3, 5, etc. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the second sensor on the engine's exhaust pipe, usually behind the catalytic converter on the way to the muffler.

And specifically locating and changing on your vehicle. Buy OEM sensors not cheaper alternatives.

Volvo v70 2008, warning message dstc service required comes on intermittently

Dear Sir the Fault you have is all about your Dynamic Stability and Traction Control. The sensors fitted on your wheels which are checking the wheel speed usually get gummed with road dirt and debris and cause error to trigger. Ask Volvo mechanic to clean the sensors and the problem would resolved.

the garage should have found what was causing this to happen in 2008 and fixed it then because their is no way the sensor should only last one year tell them that you are thinkig of getting legal advice as the problem was not fixed when the car was brought to them the first time

1988 Volvo 240 DL won't start B230F

I had more or less the same problem. It would only happen when the engine was cold. According to the mechanic, the fuel pump was going bad. After replacing it, I havent had it happen to me again, granted its only been a couple of days since I changed it.

1985 Volvo DL station wagon Starter problem

This happened to me on my '87 245.
It was a cracked distributor cap. Just a hairline, but enough.
Also check all the electrical plugs and connections under the hood.
If there is any corrosion or anything amiss clean and or replace as necessary.
Also check for wire insulation deterioration. This is a problem on some '84 to '88 240s.
