Assuming you didn't drill the lock, it would have been best to access the interior of the vehicle (if not deadlocked, breaking in would be relatively simple) and current could be supplied to the vehicle via the cigar lighter or from under the hood by connecting to the battery circuit in order to use the in-car trunk release if fitted.
A way into the trunk can usually be found by removing the rear seat or hooking the keys using a fishing tool through the armrest aperture if there is one.

With the doors shut, insert the key into the drivers door lock. Lock and unlock the door 5 times. This should reset the system. If that doesn't work you should contact a qualified repair shop.

SOURCE: keys locked in trunk - trunk release inside car

Older style cars did not always have remote trunk release. Call dealer ask if remote trunk release equipped. Rear seat can be removed but, trunk access is not guarantied. Recommend getting a replacement key made with vin and title.

Dead battery in locked trunk (Mercedes 1990)

Many People don't know exactly how to use the manual key attached to your remote to open the doors and trunk in case the battery is dead. All you have to do is slide the locking button in the back of your remote and pull the metal pre-cut key, then insert it in the trunk lock, turn key to the left and then push in. kawaboongha!!!

I have a 2006 CLS500. I lost the metal key to open the trunk. The battery went dead and I only have the starting key. I need to know how to start from the trunk or from anywhere outside the trunk?

If you call the dealership parts department with your VIN , they can order whichever key you need. Usually the key is the same for the entire car. Let me know if you need anything else.

Look under your hood, you will find contact points for jump starting. If you have a battery charger, you can connect it to those jumper points, and that will give you enough juice to operate the trunk lock.

My mercedes clk battery dead i cant open trunk

On the side of the smart key there is a mechanical key that slides out of one of the sides-There should be a little release lever retaining the mechanical key. It can be inserted into the trunk lock and turned to open the trunk. There are several other positions the key can be turned to place the trunk lock actuation in different modes- it should be in your owner's manual Hopefully I have been helpful
