I bought a new radio for my 2008 Nissan Quest and the radio dose not play how do I program it?The mechanic told me that all I have to do is insert it and reprogram it I don't know how to do that

I don't believe that programming it is necessary for a working radio. It should work either way- except it may throw some communication codes on other modules in the car- not a real big deal. I suspect that the issue is either missing power or a bad ground to the radio. If your Quest has the premium sound system, there is an amplifier in the dash that may have wend bad or has power and ground issues

GLOVE BOX RADIO CAR TAG, THAT SAYS DO NOT LOSE THIS TAG.SO ITS LOST.! dang.

ON NEWER CARS, THE MANUAL STATES
TO remove car battery first ask the radio its secure code.!!
write it down, now. oops?
then remove and replace car battery, if not done a trip to nissan or call them on the phone and ask them,, it is their secure radio,.
end story told 1million times. +1 more.

Hi, my Nissan qashqai went in for a clutch repair when I got it back my radio is not working. It wants me to put ina code and i dont even know how to do that nevermind what the radio code is?

if the battery was disconnected to replace the alternator you will need a code to put back into the radio to get the antitheft block removed

Yes. Radio units have a security measure that shuts them down when power is disconnected. With proof of ownership, your Nissan dealer will provide the proper code and instructions for resetting the unit. If you purchased the car new I suggest that you take it to the dealer where you purchased it, and don't let them charge you for the information/service. If you are not the original owner you may need to reimburse the dealer for time spent in obtaining the information for you.

you will then need to call the nissan dealer and they can guide you through it

Are you sure it is a Nissan audio system. Nissan does not use codes in their radios. You must have an aftermarket radio.

Yes you do need a code. It could be in your onwers manual or your manual can tell you where to ask for it.

Yes there is a code that is required to unlock the radio. The code would be on a small card that came with the vehicle. Look long and hard for the code, as it may be written somewhere in the owner's manual. Contact the original dealer who sold the car as they may have the code stored in their computer system. If that fails go to the Nissan website and see if they provide the code for free, as I know Honda does. If that fails you will have to remove the radio and copy the serial #. With that # any Nissan dealer can tell you the code.
