Look under the dash for a rectangular door approximately 3" wide by 1" tall. It is located almost under the center of the dash close to the hood latch.

If the CHECK ENGINE light come on, the PCM (computer car) have stored a
fault code there; I suggest scanned this and note what fault code is
there. Sometimes Autozone or AutoShop make this reader with OBD tools
for free.
You need to get the fault code read to find the problem. An indie may have a suitable OBD reader. Don't just reset the light as you could have a major problem.
This is only a guess. I don't know anything about Mercedes. try the transmission dipstick hole. Generally all cars use the transmission dipstick hole to add transmission fluid. That is why the tranny dipstick is slightly larger than the oil dipstick.

hmm, ive heard good things about the porsche cayene, volkswagen makes the tiguan and toureg both offered in a diesel model which can burn tru bio fuels. the land rovers are a little better for the off road,a little easier to tip though.theres always the mercedes g wagons,not a bad choice
i wouldnt buy anything american because there all trash...
