I have a '96 Concorde Lxi. It's been the most reliable car I've ever owned. It currently has 153,000 miles on it. The only major thing I ever had to do with it is replace the intake manifold gaskets. A common problem with the 3.5. You'll know when you need them when the car starts idling very rough - it's sucking air, and the system can't adjust for it.

A few years ago I removed the restrictor from the air cleaner tube (same results you get with the EXPENSIVE after-market so-called "cold air" induction systems), and gained what feels like 25 or more horsepower at wide open throttle. Great fun. It'll easily smoke the tires from a standing start if I snap the throttle open. With that restrictor gone, it also produces a menacing 'howl' at WOT.

96 concorde stalled while drivibg and wont start

I have a '96 Concorde Lxi. When that happened to me, it turned out to be the ignition switch. By the way, replacing that switch also fixed another problem that nobody (including the dealer) could figure out - the sudden and unexpected downshift at cruising speeds. Real scary!

HI, WHICH ONE IS BETTER? 1997 PONTIAC BONEVILLE V6 3.8L 114000 MILES OR 1999 OLDSMOBILE 88 100000 MILES V6 3.8L ? both car looks great, i want to buy one of them, HELP PLEASE THANKS.....

most of the decision will rest on getting the history on both cars, as for receipts of repairs, or you can save the headache and buy a toyota

I am losing gas mileage but the car runs great

Could be time for a tune up.
1) new spark plugs with the gap set perfect. Every 70000 miles.
2) new spark plug wires.Every 100000 miles.
3) new fuel filter every 35000 miles.
4) new air filter every 35000 miles.
5) new oil and filter changed at least every 4000 miles.
6) make sure tire air pressure is correct.
And beleave it or not, a washed clean car gets 2-3 better mpg highway.
I hope this check list helps you and your car.

Well its a good car, but that higher miles.

You could have no problems, or ya could have alot.

Its all about what ya want to pay and the shape its in.

If it was well taken care of then it could be a good car.

try replacing the starter switch at the base of the steering colum, they have issues with coming aprt and casuing this, also have the fuel pressure tested when it acts up, the fuel pump is also a problem if you have over 100,000 miles on the car.
