The correct way to find a problem like this would be to do some electrical circuit testing , view a wiring diagram an use a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter an test the power an ground circuits .

SOURCE: Driver side window on 2004 mustang stopped working

the window switches in the door can offten go bad just from sticky fingers. some times the are known to just stop working all of a sudden. it is also posible that the motor has gone bad, or more likely a bad conection at the motor or switch. the door switches on the mustangs are not the most sturdy switches. the tend to break loose and move around. u can test the motor by simply runing 12volts the the terminals on it. depending on witch terminal has power and witch has ground determins if the windo goes up or down. also check with volt meter or test light that there is power to the switch, just turn the key on and ground the test light and plug in the terminal that goes to that switch.

Under the hood is a power distribution box, check to make sure you have power going to it. If not, run a new cable to it. If there is no power to it, NOTHING will work.
