SOURCE: I have a 2006 Passat and everytime I drive it the

I had this problem too. this is very annoying, and also a safety hazard. After a lot of investigation, and a few trips to the dealer, the cause was determined to be a non-functioning recirc door. recirc door was stuck on, and humid air from the cars interior (wet shoes, breathing, etc.) was being passed directly onto the windows by the defrost system. Dealer closed the door, and it went away immediately. Recirc servo motor part was ordered, and replaced. good as new. was covered under pre-owned warranty. Hope this helps anyone else.

SOURCE: Peugeot 406 heater fan not working what do i do to fix it

if u remove the under cover in the passenger foot well, just turn the fan blower on full and hit the first thing you see when u look under the pass foot well with the palm of your hand and the blower should start to work.

Peugeot partner esplanade hdi 2003 Hi, Problem with heat resister. Can anyone give me a location before I dismantle half the interior. Cheers

Sorry can't give you the exact location - just wanted to mention the resistor gets hot in use and in order to keep it cool enough to prevent melted plastic and possibly fire it is sited in the heater air intake, often before the fan.
Peugeot have possibly been the only manufacturer to use a solid state motor speed control instead of the resistor so don't be surprised if the resistor when you find it, is a large power transistor...

Several of the Peugeot cars I have dealt with have the fan motor and speed control resistor/unit behind the dashboard above the passenger footwell and is easily accessible after removing some air trunking. I can't comment about whether that is where it is found in your vehicle.
Final thought; over many years I have found the fan motor to invariably be the heater trouble with Peugeots and have never needed to replace the speed control resistor or whatever. Due to the dust and dirt they gather the motor bearings become tight and semi-seized so the motor turns slowly at low speed settings or not at all...

Hope this helps.

Foggy windows can be dangerous at night

Ever find yourself dealing with the windows fogging intensley during the day or night while raining or just other extreme weather conditions that come your way?
A real good product to use for this is called "Rain X", buy it at any major auto parts dept. apply to your windows prior to traveling, as per directions, and walla no more fogging.

My heater has stopped working and ive checked the fuses and its not them what should i try next

Hi,
There is a blower motor resistor , located in the air duct coming from the blower assy. This will have 4/5 wires attached which determine the speed of the motor blower. This will determine the fan speeds depending on the resistor combinations selected. Sometimes the fastest blower speed will work because it has no resistance and gets full voltage.
You can also check the plug going into the fan assy , the plug may have reecieved a knock from a foot and become loose! A circuit tester will be a great help also . Good Luck

My windows started to steam up do the moisture outsides and the rain,so I turned on the window defrost button and blast cold air,bu the windows kept fogging up further, I used the windshield wipers to...

to clear the interior of fog you must put the fan on recirc and #3 fan position.with the a/c on HOT.it will clear as soon as any heat from the engine is allowed to the heater matrix to dry out the interior.if you allow fresh air into the car with fogged up glass, they will get worse as the temp is warmer inside the car than out.(they collect condensation).

AC died but the fan won't work at all on heat or defrost.

that fan is located on the passenger side under the dash, its really easy to get to. 3 or 4 bolts and one plug to take it out. youll need to buy the fan and a the little resistor/controller thingy mounted next to and pluged in to it. all should be under $150.
