I would check back pressure to Catalytic converter. Sounds like it could be plugged off. You have to plumb a gauge ahead of the converter and check the back pressure.

I have a 1998 chrysler concorde. The airbag light on the dash stays on and my horn doesnt work. How do i fix this without costing me tons of money?

Could be a wiring problem or the clockspring in the steering column.
You would need to pull the steering wheel and test the circuits.

My 1990 chevy lumina will start up for few seconds then die. it wont stay running for more than 5 seconds but will starts up every time. when i give it gas it dies immediately

Sounds like low fuel pressure. Check your fuel pressure. If you have the 3.1 liter engine and just turn the key to the "on" position you should have around 41 - 47 PSI. When running it should have about 31 - 44 PSI. If you have the 2.5 liter engine you should have 26 - 32 PSI of pressure when running. I hope this helps and good luck.

1995 Cadi SLS Codes, P0030 & P0036, Ckt Fuse or Relay Defective, checked fuse ok, where is relay located?

Hi there,

P0030 = HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1) - No.1 Heated Oxygen sensor on bank 1.
P0036 = HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2) - No. 2 Heated Oxygen sensor on bank 1

For both of these to trigger on the same bank, means most likely an Open or Short to Ground condition (somewhere on the Bank 1 circuit) stopping the HO2 sensors from reaching their working temperature.

Check the following in this order:

1) Using a multimeter, check 'continuity' of the Oxygen circuit FUSE terminals (don't rely on visual inspection alone) or replace fuse with a known good one.
2) Check for moisture getting into both oxygen sensor connector terminals (bank 1).
3) Check for good connection at Oxygen sensors (bank 1).
3) Have both heated oxygen sensors on Bank 1 tested (ensure their values are to specification).
4) Check HO2 pin-outs of the PCM for correct voltage.

Only replace the HO2 sensors as a last resort (if out of spec).

Then engine department relay centre & fusebox location is behind the washer bottle, but I believe the HO2 sensors are connected direct to the PCM, not a relay.

Cheers,

Fuel pump wont come on.Was wondering where the fuel pump relay switch is on the 1990 chevy Lumina

If it is the same as my 1991 lumina it will be mounted to the left strut tower under the hood. There should be a fuse and a relay.

1990 Chevy Lumina showing codes 12 and 21. What are they?

code 12 flashes any time trouble codes are pulled without the car running. It is normal and think it has something to do with not receiving distributor pulse.

Code 21 has to do with the TPS (throttle position sensor) voltage being to high. You'll need a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) to check this out. Unplug the TPS sensor and check for 5volts on the grey wire, and make sure the black wire has a good ground. If those check out plug the sensor back in. Back probe the blue wire. you should see around .5 volts with the throttle closed. The voltage should go up smoothly as you slowly open the throttle. At wide open throttle the voltage should be around 4.9 volts. If any of the above three are not true I would suspect a bad throttle position sensor.

I have a 05 chevy trailblazer, the check engine lite is on and a hand held analyzer indicated problem codes: PO410 $ PO128 any ideas? Wayne C

P0410

Definition
Secondary Air Injection System fault
Explanation
The air injection system is monitored for faults
Probable Causes
1) Circuit relay defective or fuse open
2) Check connector and wiring
3) AIR pump defective or hoses blocked

P0128
Fault Code Definition
  • Engine temperature has not increased and/or reached the correct level within a specified amount of time after engine startup
Common Problems That Trigger the P0128 Code
As for the po128 I would replace the thermostat first. That is the problem 99% of the time.

Good Luck

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.
