Yes, your fuel pump is connected to the sending unit in the gas tank. Be careful not to stretch of break the wires connected to the harness on top of the tank. These are usually in a very tight place, and can sometimes be reached easier by supporting the tank and removing the straps, slowly drop the tank to where you can remove the harness, as well as the fuel lines. This job is usually more aggrivating than difficult. If you have never attempted this before, expect to take some time doing this! Hope this helps

If you look under the car between the rear axle and the fuel tank you should see the charcoal canister. The vent solenoid should be attached to the side of it.

SOURCE: 2007 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5. Sounds like fuel pump is running with ignition off and key removed. Drained battery.

Might have a bad fuel pump relay.

Would just like t know where the fuel filter on my 2006 Pont. G6 GT is located, I would like to replace it.

You didn't state what size engine you have. The filter is round in shape, if it isn't under the car near the gas tank, then it is inside the gas tank, Which I think is a stupid place for general motors to put it.
