If it is on the rear of the engine in front of the converter you need the bank 1 sensor 1. Behind the converter is bank 1 sensor 2. The front exhaust manifold is bank 2 so sensor in front of the converter is bank 2 sensor 1 and behind is bank 2 sensor2.

SOURCE: need to replace catalytic converter heat shield

I just took mine off to keep it from rattling, and bought a heat resistant header tape and placed the tape right over the Catalytic Converter on the body it self. Good luck and keep me posted if you have any more questions.

Do you mean P0351, P0352, P0700? (The "P" makes a HUGE difference - it could also be a "C" a "B" or a "U") When you post fault codes, please be sure to post the ENTIRE fault code.

Anyway, P0700 is a generic code that is output by the Engine Control Module (ECM) to let you know that there are transmission faults present in the Transmission Control Module (TCM). To find out what the problem actually is, you must have a scanner that is capable of accessing the TCM and retriving the codes. NOTE: a "generic OBD" code reader cannot do this.

P0351 is "Ignition Coil #1 Primary Circuit"
P0352 is "Ignition Coil #2 Primary Circuit"

The ignition coil primary circuit is monitored when battery voltage is more than 8 volts during cranking or more than 13 volts with the engine running at less than 3000 RPM, and no coil in dwell during testing. The Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) will set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory when the PCM senses peak current is not achieved with battery based dwell plus 1.5 milliseconds of diagnostic offset. DTC P0351 and/or DTC Po352 takes less that 3 seconds to set during engine cranking, or up to 6 seconds with the engine running. Possible causes for these DTCs are : Intermittent condition, defective ignition coil (or coils), defective connectors or wiring, defective PCM .

NOTE: Intermiitent failures or problems in the contacts/circuits of the Auto Shutdown (ASD) relay can also cause these codes. Some aftermarket equipment , like remote starters and antitheft systems that are connected to the ASD relay circuits can also cause these codes. Any such equipment should be COMPLETELY removed from the vehicle before attempting to diagnose these codes.

2002 Toyota tundra 3.4 sr5 catalytic converter

If you are getting 0 Volts on O2 sensor #1, the front sensor is probably bad or has a wiring problem (usually the sensor at the catalytic converter inlet is "O2 1"). Check the wiring first, especially at the sensor connector. It could even be corrosion in the connector terminal.

2001 Chrysler T&C. It has a strong smell of gas, rough idle, hard start and wants to stall at slower speeds I can push it to the floor but still no power. Changed plugs, wires, egr, and 02 censors

Check your distributor cap and rotor for wear, and coil for spark. Check air filter, PCV valve. Check catalytic converter / exhaust lines and muffler for any blockage of flow. Inspect wiring harnesses and wiring for possible broken, worn or corroded ground connections.

Will to much oil in the engine cause the o2 censor to send code P0421. saturn l300 2002

No, but fix the oil level before you damage the engine.
The code is the O2 sensor , past the catalytic converter, either you have a fouled spark plug, a bad converter , or a bad O2 sensor.

Where are the o2 censors?

They are both in the exhaust pipe on the passengers side,#1 ahead or the catalytic converter and #2 behind it.Check for shorted wiring or a wire from the sensor laying on the exhaust pipe before you start to replace them.

2002 mitsubishi lancer oz rally troubleshooting p0420

Code p0420 is 'catalyst efficiency below threshold'.

This could be caused by a bad catalytic converter but before dumping a ton of money on that I would suspect the after-cat oxygen sensor is getting lazy and setting the code.

Have the O2 sensors checked and replace if needed before suspecting the catalytic converter.

Good luck.

02 censor

Your car should have two O2 sensors. One will be located after your catalytic converter. The other one should be located before your catalytic converter somewhere between your headers and your cat. Rarely, on some vehicles, there's a 3rd O2 sensor which is located also somewhere between the catalytic converter and the headers.
