At autozone diagnostic code read P000A and P000B at auto zone. I searched it on the internet and its the camshaft position sensor. Do you have directions to change this part. I don't even know what it looks like.
I would think that it fits at 1 end of the engine near one of the ends of the camshaft. It will be probably a small plastic part with 2 or more wires attached. If you get a replacement unit, you will be able to compare and locate it on your engine. I would also suggest that being a Jeep part, its probably expensive. With electronics these days, its not unusual for diagnostic codes to sometimes give you an idea of where the fault lies but may not necessarily be the part that is at fault. It could be something else. May pay to get a Jeep Dealer to check with the factory diagnostic machine to confirm that's the fault before you outlay for a part that may not be faulty.

It isn't something you can just disconect, but it is fairly easy to replace. I just did mine about 2 weeks ago and it took less than 30 minutes. You just remove the battery so you can get to it, and it is right there on the side of the engine. After you get the battery out take out the 4 bolts holding it on, then disconnect the wire after you have removed it, then hook the new one on the wire and bolt it on. Replace the battery and you are good to go.
SOURCE: Diagnostic code P 340 and P 341 Camshaft Position
The Camshaft Position Sensor tells the PCM (computer) the position of the Camshaft Position. This Sensor sychronized along with several other Sensors including the Crankshaft Position Sensor the firing of the electronics to the spark plugs of each cylinder.
It is not difficult to replace and relatively inexpensive.
1. Disconnect the Negative side of the Battery,
2. Locate the Sensor and unplug.
3. Remove the Position Sensor retaining bolt.
4. Pull out the Sensor.
Replacement is reverse of above order.
Hint: use fresh engine oil on the end/sides of the Sensor especially around the rubber o-ring(s) to ease pushing the Sensor into proper position.

That makes the computor think the timing is off. Replace the sensor and see if that does it. You will then have to have the code cleared (erased) or the light will come back on/stay on.
SOURCE: 2007 Jeep Compass Code P000A and P000B problem
P000A is either wiring fault, a fault with the ECU/PCM or a mechanical fault the camshaft.
P000B is slow response from the cam sensor. It can be cause from dirty oil or the wrong type of oil.
In both cases, if your sure the oil is correct then there is an issue with the cam sensor or cam sensor solenoid.
I hope this helps; remember to rating this and just keep in mind that your feedback is important
and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some
testimonial comment.
Have a nice day and thanks for using FixYa.

2.0L 2.4L Removal
The camshaft position sensor is mounted to the rear of the cylinder head.
Remove the negative battery cable.
Disconnect the PCV hose and reposition
Disconnect electrical connectors from the camshaft position sensor.
Remove camshaft position sensor mounting screws.
Remove sensor.Loosen screw attaching target magnet to rear of camshaft and remove magnet.
Instalation
The target magnet has locating dowels that fit into machined locating holes in the end of the camshaft.
- Install target magnet in end of camshaft. Tighten mounting screw to 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.) torque. Over torqueing could cause cracks in magnet. If magnet cracks replace it.
- Install camshaft position sensor. Tighten sensor mounting screws to 12.9 Nm (115 in. lbs.) torque.
- Carefully attach electrical connector to camshaft position sensor. Installation at an angle may damage the sensor pins.
- Connect the PCV Valve hose.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
2.7L V6 Removal
The camshaft position sensor is mounted in the front of the head.
Disconnect electrical connector from sensor.
Remove camshaft position sensor screw.
CAM Sensor Location 2.7L
Without pulling on the connector, pull the sensor out of the chain case cover.
Installation
- Install sensor in the chain case cover and push sensor in until contact is made with the boss on the head. While holding the sensor in this position, install and tighten the retaining bolt to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque.
- Attach electrical connector to sensor.
Good luck and hope this helps
