Most power steering systems are purely mechanical. I believe that some may have electro-mechanical boost hardware, so check the manual for fuse location.
right side front on bottom of engine. Under the power steering pump which must be removed in order to replace. you dont have to remove power steering hoses though, you can just let it hang by the hoses while you access the thermostat.
Best I can remember it is located on the lower backside of engine. One way to find it is to follow the hose coming out of the power steering fluid reservoir down to the pump.
bottom radiator hose..engine block end of the hose and vw was nice enough to tuck it ever so nicely right back under ur power steering pump...o and yeah fyi ur power steering pump has to be removed at least dam near it loads of fun for just a thermastat...:)
There is no place to add power steering fluid as the car uses an electronic power steering system. If a problem arises, you would have to repair or replace the "power steering pump."
You could have a number of problems.First thing you should always do is check you power steering fluid level. If it is low, then top it off with the recommended fluid type. For your vehicle it should be a mineral based fluid or universal power steering fluid which you can get at any parts stores. The reservoir is usually located on the drivers side and has a green cap that looks like it needs a screw driver to open it,and you actually do.If you still have a problem, then it could be the system itself, from the power steering pump,to the rack and pinion. It can also be bent suspension parts, but always go with the cheapest route first.I hope this helps you.
If you do not know what you are talking about you really should stay out of a conversation. It dose not have a power steering pump or a reservoir or suction! It is electronic and needs scanned with a computer. God people open mouth and insert huge foot. Stay with your night time job your dam sure no mechanic!
Generally all power steering systems are pulley driven. So they are mostly located near your serpentine belt. The resevoir may be located right w/it or may have a line that locates it away from the engine-usually near the battery on VWs.Hope this helps.
The thermostat is located at the engine end of the lower radiator hose (passenger side). If the car has power-steering the power steering pump and mounting bracket have to be removed to get to the thermostat housing.
The thermostat is at the end of the bottom hose, in the water pump housing ..not the top
