Test your fuel pressure, it is more than likely very low, you may need a fuel filter or fuel regulator

I have replaced, fuel filter& pump , fpcm checked injector wiring by passed fpcm and fuel pump turns on, I have good voltage at fpcm , the security light flashes on off , when I turn the key on it goes out, still no start traded out the fpcm tonight and now the security light flashes then key on it's on no flash. Needing a wiring diagram for security and fuel including injector digram plus any ideas what could be shorted , also noticed when hooking battery back up it seems to have a serious drain. Fixing to trace what is causing the drain , I noticed to day it's had four owners since 1/18 I'm the 5th person. It doesn't look like a flood vehicle and originally came from Dallas, it no longer starts , since installing the last fpcm I got from Advance Auto both of them had been installed prior to my purchase,

Both good answers here I am assuming that your spark plugs are in good condition in gap if you dont know please check them before changing your fuel filter when you say it starts again is that on its own or with starting fluid? You may have a very dirty tank screen on the end of the sender assembly in the tank if this gets clogged nothing gets through try shaking the truck back n forth to move the gas around in the tank this will also move dirt on the screen ///can you check your power distribution box cable and fuse and relay blades they may be corroded and intermittently letting power get through

Could it be a plug up injector , have sewiing needle , stick it in the sprayer part of the injector on the carberator part

It sounds like you aren't getting fuel out of the cold start injector... remove the injector when engine is cold and switch on ignition... you should get a fine spray pattern for a few seconds... if not then there is probably a problem with the cold start circuit (Temp sensor fault), or the injector is faulty. pull electrical connectors one at a time and look for corrosion... Hope this helps...;-)

IF IT RUNS AND STAYS running. then that means the car is flooding or is in a sad state of tune.
tune it up and it will start every time.

po522, the possible solution:
The most likely cause is a faulty oil pressure sensor/switch.
for p0688, you can Check all the ECM fuses, if the fuses are OK try replacing the ASD relay.
