I don't know the answer to your question - just wanted to tell you there might not be one because your car is likely to be fully computerised and the lights are probably switched by a black box using an unconventional circuit.

You really should refer to a wiring diagram before testing the circuit or guessing what might be wrong.

I know this is not your problem, but my low beam stopped working, both bulbs failed, no burn marks or broken element. Just had to tell someone

SOURCE: no low beam head lights

If you just want to replace the bulb yourself, this is a good website.
http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Nissan-Altima-Headlight-Bulb/Nissan-Altima-Passenger-Side-Headlight.htm
If the website does't get your headlight fixed... You might have a blown fuse. It could be in the IPDM E/R location under the hood. This is next to the coolant bottle. Remove the coolant bottle with two screws and lift the cover to the IPDM E/R. Just set the coolant bottle aside for now. The low beam fuses are 49 and 50. They are 15A fuses. To be more precise, they are located on row 2, columns 2 and 3 (column 1 being closest to the fender of the car). Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Low beam headlights don't work

The problem is in the high beam switch assembly which also houses your turn signals and possibly cruise control, and yes, I'm sure. There are some electrical contacts in the assembly which dis-connect the low beams when you put the high beams on. Constant use of the high beam switch will create arcing on the low beam switch which makes the contacts not conduct electricity anymore. The daytime running lights send power to the low beams on a separate circuit. .

The repair is to either replace the assembly, $300 at dealer, $100 or less do it yourself, or take the assembly apart and clean it for free. (2 hours or less)

Instructions for fixing the switch here: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=167831&page=4

P.S. If you own a VW, especially around model years 1999 to 2004, there is a rare but devastating problem with engine coolant being literally pumped through all electrical parts of your car.... destroying it. Repair cost = $8,000. It is called coolant migration. Check your VW right now (takes two seconds, literally), and do a two-minute procedure to fix your car to prevent the problem here: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/multi/coolant_migration.htm

I had an issue regarding headlight when ignition switch turn on but no low beam, when engine started low beam appear. May I know the location of headlight dimmer relay of Yamaha xj6f 2012.

I'm not familiar with this particular bike but there is probably a current sensitive relay that allows start up without lights to help the battery then takes note of the engine running and switches on the lights. I would expect the relay to be under the seat somewhere. Google images might help you. Do you not have the owners handbook?

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer Limited and the high beams work but the low beams and fog lights do not, please help....

These trucks are known for bad multifuction switches.
the switch that i talk of is the signal switch , the handle is the switch, it bolts to side of steering column . this switch controls the signals and the headlights and high /low beams. the other thing is the headlight switch connector, the connector some times goes bad and starts to melt or just comes out of the connector. you will need to remove the cover to steering column, the screws are located under the bottom cover in holes. remove cover and check connector and then test for power if you have power going into switch but not coming out then switch is bad.

the last thing is to make sure the bulbs are good , make sure the headlight bulbs are good , and also the driving light bulbs, test for power at the connectors to those lights to.
You will need to do a little testing to find the problem.

High my 1999 nissan altima low beam don't work only high beam . email [email protected] or [email protected]

it could be the headlamp switch. Check the relays first. look in owner manual for relay locations. Usually just one relay goes, so if both lights are out, that leads to the headlamp switch. It could also be in the high/low beam switch , which I think is on the turn signal swithc stalk. Does "Flash to Pass" work?

Low beam headlight doesn't work after replacing with 3 new ones. Any suggestions?

My 2003 Altima had a similar issue...Long story, short....I located a blown fuse (location 49 & 50) for the low beams in the IPDM E/R and replaced it. The headlight worked right away. My IPDM E/R was under the hood close to the front passenger side head light and coolant bottle.
