I have a 2008 Ford Taurus X, both rear and front wipers work, rear washer works, front washer does not work and does not engage blades. Different story than all other I have seen. Seems to be no power to front washer mechanism. I'm guessing anyway. How can I resolve?

Most probable cause is a faulty washer switch or fuse, and a check of power on both sides of the switch would confirm this.

SOURCE: Windscreen wiper not working

check the switch on the steering usualy it becomes faulty after a while and also your window washers could be blocked but try turning it on if you do not hear a buzzing sound the motors needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: Windscreen Washer

If it is the same as some other Chevrolets they have 2 pumps attached to the side of the washer bottle. 1 for rear and 1 for front windscreen

SOURCE: wiper washer

You didn't mention any lost fluids so we can assume that no hapless mechanic has accidentally pulled any tubing loose from the supply.
If, as in many cars, the path of the tubing connecting the washer fluid bottle to the jets on the cowl are visible, carefully pull one the tubes loose and have someone operate the washer to see if the pump is doing anything any more. You may be able to find the 'Y' junction where the tubes split off to feed the two jets.
The rear window washer has its own fluid supply and pump so is completely independent of the front.
If you find the pump working, then you will have to carefully poke a soft, small gauge wire, preferably copper, to try to clean the jets themselves. You probably have some small bits of something clogging the jets and it can help if someone is keeping the washer pump running while you try to clear them as the pressure will aid you.
Worst case, the jets can often be replaced fairly easy and at a cost of a few dollars.

SOURCE: rear wiper does not work at all. front wipers work

1. check the fuse to the rear wiper motor
2. check for power to rear wiper motor at the motor (power wire going in to the wiper motor with rear wiper switch on)
If you have good fuses & have power going in to the rear wiper motor...
3. Pull old rear wiper motor and install a new rear wiper motor.
Thank you please drive thru......

SOURCE: Rear wiper Ford Explorer 1998 won't work.

Look for the fuse for the rear wiper motor is a 15 amp mini-fuse , in location # 8 of your POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX in the engine compartment. Check in the PD BOX for; - relay # 8 is the rear wiper down relay , and - relay # 10 is the rear wiper up relay .

2004 ford taurus wagon rear wiper will not work, but wiper fluid does

Your wiper and wiper fluid motors are different operation. The fluid one is a pump and the wiper motor only operates the wipers. Should check and see if you are getting power to the wiper motor if you are and the wiper does not work then you may need a new wiper motor.

1990 Ford Taurus GL windshield wipers park in the wrong position

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus with a similar malfunction the intermittent wiper function is erratic, but the wipers park properly. I'm the original owner & this malfunction was in the car from the factory. I have a regular Ford Dealership manual & came to the conclusion that the Generic Electronic Module located behind the fuse panel is bad (computer glitch in programming) ! Ford Dealers want over $ 300.00 for a brand new module, I haven't checked with my local used auto parts recycler yet, but I know it will be less than the dealer price !
