Comfort control module in the Audi is normally under the carpet, front left seat (Driver's side if American, passenger side if British).

sounds like you have a temp door motor problem on the drivers side. the motors seize/stick and have to be replaced.

You just don't throw a part on, If the problem is the transmission range selector switch (not the control module) the cost to repair will be around $250.00

When is the code detected?The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position and sends a signal to the TCM.

Is this an all the time issue or only in certain locations? If only in certain locations you may be getting interference blocking/restricting/reducing the range of your remote. (power lines, electrical equipment etc). You may still have a battery issue in the remote(s) depending on how often the remote was used and its probably the least expensive way to check the system. Second you can have a disconnected/bad antenna. Most newer vehicles have the antenna built into the car I believe the Audi is located inside the C-Pillar of the SUV (not easy to access). It could have become damaged or disconnected. Third and finally possibly the alarm unit itself (very rare) could be a cause. Start with the batteries.

I know you can that you can change this by simply hooking up a scan tool for specific year. There are language options accessible for situations like this. Here is a sample of what can be changed using VAG 5052 or equivalent scanners.

Couple of times when you replace the remote battery, you might have them not working/ responding but just follow the procedure below.

Stand close to the car, hold down the open and close knobs for about 10 seconds. Press them at the same time for 3 seconds; then press the open button as the car opens.

The above procedure is applicable to a lot of car brands. It does not matter how many knobs you might have on the remote fob.

I have carried this procedure out on a lot of brands ranging from Honda, Toyota, Rover, Ford, etc. and it works perfectly well.

you have 2 sicrews ( small) near the glass left and right to open & pull the panel upwards 1.5 cm then the panel becomes free .

the frame on the drivers side door as you look down, there is a button the pops the trunk. However, if you cannot open it with the remote, it is not likely that this will work as it uses the same mechanism to open the latch. I would definitely unlock the doors with the key, go to the trunk and make sure the the lock is in the "unlocked state", ad press the button in, it should just open
