SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

If it was the motor that went out then it would not blow at all. The resistor is the culprit that starts killing off speeds. It should be about $25 to $30 at an aftermarket store like autozone or advanced auto parts.

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Explorer XLT the Blower Fan only works on 4 and 3 Sp

Look under the dash on passenger side and just to the left of the blower motor housing you will see the 4WD control module.Remove the 2 screws holding the module and let it hang down and your resistors are behind this.Remove the 2 screws holding the resistors and remove.
Now I am assuming you have manual climate control and not electonic.

SOURCE: Blower motor or resistor?

Yes its the blower motor resistor.

More then likley theres some trash or something in it, or possibly the motor itself is on it's way out. There not that bad to pull out of that body car, just pull it out and see what you can see.

The blower motor is under the glove compartment

You can replace the resistor on your own. Please find a detailed diagram which would guide you to do it.

SOURCE: location of blower motor fuse

Fuse blower motor is not in the fuse box. It is located outside. lOpen the hood, on the driver side near the fender, about 1 feet from the fuse box toward the direction of the radiator, there is a retangular about 1x2 in with wire coming out from each end. Snap it open, inside is the the wire fuse.

2006 porsche cayenne with blower motor problems. I just went to the storeand on the way back, blower started working again. must be a loose fitting, you think

It is likely the blower motor is defective or the connector is burnt or the dash switch is defective, Also the blower motor brushes may just be worn out, when it stops hit the motor with a hammer handle and see if it starts, check all connectors for signs of overheating as well.

How to remove the glove box from a 2006 porsche cayenne

Replacing the fan doesn't take many tools, just skill. The fan is under the passenger side dashboard. Remove the cover that is held in with a T25 screw. After removing the screw pry the cover down. Disconnect the light from the cover. Remove the foot vent under the dashboard by pulling it down. Using a 5.5mm socket remove the screws holding in the blower fan. Removing the fan can be very difficult because the main wire harness goes under one edge of the fan. When you get the fan out check it for water damage. When installing the new fan make sure it slides into the channel in the hva/c box. Working around the wire harness can be frustrating. After reassembling check that the fan works. There are 4 places water can leak into the fan. The hva/c water drain can be plugged. The wiper cowl cover at the base of the windshield can be unclipped from the windshield. And one of the two wiper cowl water drains can be plugged.

My 2006 GMC sierra 1500 heater fan stopped working. It started about 6 months ago when the high speed stopped working, now none of the speeds works.

This is your blower motor regulator. It is under the glove box and behind the blower motor itself. They are cheap to purchase but a pain in the rear side to replace. Hope this can help you out sir.

Blower motor location

Hi, I had to replace mine also. It's located under the glove compartment, passenger side. Pull off the chrome moulding around the glove box and undo the screws. This will allow you access to the blower motor cover. Be careful of the light inside the glove box. You have to ubdo it's screw and feed it through the back. Undo the cover to expose the blower motor. You can also replace the interior filter in the same area if you haven't done so yet. Two screws on a narrow cover.
Good luck.
