When i open the doors on my truck the interior lights aren't on?

I have a '92 dodge dakota. The lights dont turn on when i open my doors. Why is that happening?

Check the switch contacts at the doors. Do you live near the sea? The switches could corrode and then you get a bad electrical connection. And check the switch at the dome light :P

Check your fuses. sometimes there are several for the same location. if its not your fuses it could be an electrical problem

They time out. Look for a bad module. I have a 92. I'll check the manual. I do not know if yours is similar.

Headlights, interior lights are out and service 4x4 light is on
try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Then if you have a remote lock, lock and unlock three times in a row as this will often reset the computer. Or, borrow a code reader from one of the parts stores and see what codes are stored. Once you have the code, go online and Google it.

Sounds like either a linkage rod came off or the interior handle is broken. either way you have to take the interrior door panal off to see which it is.

the fuel sending unit is in the gas tank, u can't just buy the sending unit u must buy the fuel pump module which includes the sender. approx price $200, time to do the job 3 hours, how do i know this info, did the job on my Dakota, twice.

Interior light stay on intermitant
Check for moisture under the interior carpeting.
I have see it cause this when the wiring gets wet on the connections from the door switches. Other wise you are going to have to get a meter and check all the wiring to each door and the lamp switch.
