Dash lights don't work and headlights do not automatically comeon

This past week I took at trip from Nebraska to Minn. We ran into some fog. I turned on the fog lights. After we got through the fog I turned off the fog lights. When we got to Minn. I noticed that when I got out of the car that dinging sound comes on as if I left the keys in the ignition or left the lights on but I had the keys in my hand and had shut the lights off. When I went to drive the car later the lights did not automatically come on like they used to do and the dash lights did not work. When I start the car with the remote starter both the headlights and the dash lights come on but as soon as I put the key in the ignition they go out and I have to manually turn the headlights on and the dash lights still will not come on. Any ideas what may be wrong with it?

1997 SE. How can I get the fog lights to turn on?

They are not automatic.
Should be a switch on the dash or in conjunction with the headlight switch on the turn signal stalk. The headlights have to be on first.

When I turn my fog-lights on at nights, the headlights become weak

Someone may have ran the wiring from the fog lights on the same circuit that the headlights are on and therefore it is taking some voltage away from the headlights, might need to run the fog lights on a different circuit with a fusable link in it for safety.

You have a short to ground somewhere in the drl-fog lamp circuit. Check for obvious wiring connector or wiring to drl & fog lamps. check wiring for pinched or broken wires coming from sockets. If you don't find problem, you can trace wiring from lamps to main harnesses and hopefully find source of short.
hope this helps.

No owners manual

There should be a switch on the dash or the headlamp switch. they will only work on LOW BEAM. it is possible that both bulbs can be bad.

Drivers side reverse light on while i drive.

Your car has rear fog lights. The rear light that you see come on with your headlights is your rear fog light. The light in your dash is the rear fog light indicator. To turn off your rear fog lghts push your headlight switch in half way. To turn off your front fog lights push in all of the way.

Head lights will not turn on, fuel guage missing, radio turns off

This is an old post so I don;t even know if you still have the car, but here is what I know.

1) Your radio issue is probably a relay. It is a relay bank located above your glove box. The entire glove box assembly will have to come out. This relay is a little different in appearnace thatn the others as it is skinnier and taller. It is called the Brand Name speakers/radio relay.

2) Your dash readouts are due to a burned out bulb. These are not LED. They are regular 124 bulbs. They've burned out. Banging on the dash probably allowed the filament of in the bulb to touch and temporarily worked.

3) I have a similar problem with the headlights. My headlights turn on manually, but they don't turn on like they are supposed to via automatic photo sensor. When turned on manually, the doors open and the headlights are on. When I manually turn off the headlights, the doors don't close. I've checked everything and I was told it may have something to do with the Body Control Module. I am not completely sure as this research is ongoing.

The hazards most likely still work, but when they key is out, it won't flash on the dash, but will outside.

As for the indicators and trip...could be either a steering wheel module to a turn signal stalk issue.

Were you having problems with the turn idicators acting weird before?
