Being 1996 750 4.8 litre fairly heavy car, I wouldn't doubt the car would need new struts/shock replacement all around. front tend to go out first before the rear because of extras weight of the motor, you can feel the ride more spongy going over bumps, poor handing when cornering and once awhile you can hear the metal hitting metal. have all coil springs also check, some get weaken and will make the car sit higher on one side or front sit higher than the rear or which ever. I would have the coil spring check and replace all shocks/struts you be surprise the car will ride as it was new, suspension has allot to do with comfort and handling. If you have to replace the shock/struts, get an estimate first from your local shop for the price of 4 shocks and then shop on ebay first to see if you can do a bit of saving, don't forget including your shipping also including into the cost. any garage will out it in for you.

I have a 1996 BMW 750 IL The battery is at full charge but when I turn the key to start there is nothing – lights are on seatbelt indicator on but no power to the starter can you help me with this

Turn on your headlights and try to start the car. If the headlights go from bright to dim or off , then the battery or it's connections are bad, or loose or corroded.
If the headlights stay bright, then the problem is likely the starter or it's connections.
Hope this helps.

Front end shakes when pushing the brakes hard at high speed

You most likely have warped rotors. You can get them turned if there not to bad but if they are real bad then you'll need new ones

Where is ths knock sensor bank1 located on a 1999 bmw 750 il

the knock sensors are located on the cylinder heads. the connect to the wiring harness almost directly in the middle of the intake manifolds on the center of the top of the engine. There are two, one for each bank, with each having two sensors per bank. Bank 1 is cylinders 1-6 which is located on the driver's side I beleive.

Does anyone have diagrams for the rear suspension for a 2007 Lincoln Navigator ?? I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem with my Navigator; the rear of the truck is almost touching the...

don live in the real world, that suspension is never going to work right again. you are going to spend a ton of money, and no matter what you do something else will go wrong. big mercs, lincolns, BMW, caddies, land rovers, etc all sit in the same saggy swamp. there are still thousands of collapsed Peugeots sitting in barns since the 1970s across the land waiting for a real suspension fix.

take a long look at www.strutmasters.com and consider junking the air or hydraulic suspension system and trading up to a real one with springs and shocks.

Need to know what kind of power steering fluid to use?

Your car, being a 735 iL (the iL being the key here) requires what is called Pentosin 7.1. This is a mineral based hydraulic fluid used in BMW's with self leveling suspension. Since your car is an iL you have self leveling suspension. Not a lot of parts stores carry this fluid. NAPA has it, if it's not on the shelf they can order it. BMW dealers also stock it. The same pump that runs your self leveling also runs your power stearing and they are filled in the same location as they share a common resivoir. This resivoir is located in the engine compartment on the driver's side and looks like a black bottle with a screw type cap.

1993 750 l BMW

Hard to say, but here is something important to check. Get the rear end up on jack stands (safely), remove the wheel and take a closer look. Check that the LAD high pressure hose that runs from the pressure accumulator (AKA bomb, because it looks like one) to the bottom of the strut, is not rubbing on anything. If it is, get some open ended spanners and slightly loosen, re-position, and re-tighten the hose so that it does not come into contact with anything when it moves (make sure you have some spare pentosin first, or drain the fluid into a clean container for reuse). Sometimes when a mechanic fits these hoses they don't care enough to make sure they're not rubbing anything. It happened to me, but I wasn't lucky enough to hear it first, and it wore through the hose. If this happens, you will lose power steering and the rear suspension will sit down, so you will need a tow truck, about $100 worth of Pentosin 7.1 (you can't use ATF or regular brake fluids), and of course a new hose. The latter two can be ordered from www.bavauto.com. Good luck.
