Need to replace motor and transmission in a 97 Pontiac Grand AM G

Trying to find is a long-block from a 92 olds achieva with the quad 4 2.4 motor and transmission would fit and work in a 97 Pontiac Grand AM that currently has a 2.4 L quad 4 dual overhead cam with a 5 speed automatic transmission?
Can find any information through the searches I have done on line.

Changing from a 1992 to a 1997 < WILL NOT Be EASY , As you must HAVE the ENTIRE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS , And ALSO the ECM for the older Set up. In the "5" YEARS there Were MANY CHANGES to the ENGINE Components= SENSORS and ACTUATERS .
its just a BETTER IDEA to Stay Whitin a year or 2 when Swaping ENGINES. SIZE OF SENSORS ETC. MAKES IT DIFICULT

Would a 93 grand am transmission fit a 97 grand am with a 3.1 lt motor v6 on both cars are they compatable

Not at all.There are no 93 transmissions that will interchange with a 97.

At what milliage is the timing belt need to be changed on 97 grand am

if you have the quad 4 engine it has a chain, the weak link is the chain tensioner. about 60k was the max for that year.

Troubleshoot 97 olds achieva overheating

REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.IF STILL OVERHEATING CHECK TO SEE COOLANT COMING ON IF NOT CHECK COOLANT FAN FUSE AND RELAY.IF BOTH GOOD.HOTWIRE COOLANT FAN TO SEE IF IT WORKS IF NO REPLACE FAN MOTOR.IF FAN MOTOR RUNS FAN MOTOR WIRE HAS SHORT OR COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAULTY.
