1992- 1996 Silverado Hood Will Not Open

Father's 1992 Silverado flairside battery is dead. Truck has been sitting for a while. Cant get the Hood open.

Cable in the cab is still connected and looked through the grill/hood and it is still latched to something behind a large metal flap. Tried the buddy system as well with them pushing on the hood.

Truck has front air dam so cant get under the front bumper (also parked on grass so cant jack up the car). I know a fair deal about cars...if I can get the hood open...
Car cant be driven to the shop due to dead battery.

Help please!

How to release hood latch from locked dead battery 2004 Pacifica

To open the hood of a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica with a dead battery, try these steps:
Find hood release lever: Usually located on left side of driver's footwell near the hood release cable.
Jump-start battery: Connect battery to another car's battery if it's completely dead. This will provide enough power to release the hood latch.
Use manual release: If jump-starting is not possible, consult owner's manual for manual release location.
Get help: If unsuccessful, call for help from a tow truck or mechanic.
Caution: Make sure the car is in park, emergency brake is engaged and engine is off before opening the hood.

My battery is dead, cant get into truck

I would try crawling under vehicle and hooking red jumper cable to big copper stud on starter where the battery cable hooks up, hook the black cable to the frame and hook the other ends up to another vehicle like you were jumping it off. And it should feed the battery with enough power to get the doors open to get the hood up. Good Luck

Battery dies for no apparent reason if truck sits

Fantom power drain. Make sure nothing is plugged into the lighter Make sure no lights are on like under hood or visor mirrors Turn off radio and make sure no cd/tape is in
Ignition switch might be bad A good battery should last 2 weeks just sitting. A old battery will go dead overnight especially if cold

The key will not unlock the truck, will that happen if the battery is dead. if so how do you get the hood up to jump it?

The key will open driver door of the truck manually, just like in the old days before electric locks.

Reply what you find and I can help further.

Sorry to hear that at Christmas Day.I'm sorry brother , but the only thing to do is call the locksmith .Because if you try to open the hood any other way , you may dent your truck.
