It will eventually. most likely the electrical connections under truck got wet and stops the operation your explaining. My 03 yukon xl does this all the time. when i shut it off next day i start and it works. sometimes the 4 lo light comes on yet it is still in 2 hi. other days they all flash. somedays the red nuetral light is on yet i'm driving. Damn electronics. My ford explorer is the same way. I never get the underbody wash either as this leads to two days of flashing.
these damn things do this all the time, my 03 ? you cant count on it to work any day of the week ! you just get lucky and it works. I get all lights flashing, i get the nuetral light on yet it is in 2 hi. I'm tired of all the codes and replacing parts, 700.00 dollars later and still the same. I just drive it and it fixes itself in a day, maybe next time i start truck. It worked the best when i sealed all the electrical plugs in moisture proof wrapping, but a few months later and its a guess game again so i just drive it !
Hi, you will probably have to take to mitsubishi dealer and have them scan diagnostics....but sounds like the o ring has busted in transfer case. will it shift in and out of 4wheel drive? If not don't drive it...it will cause alot of damage.
the light is flashing to let u know a fault has occurred in the transfer case electronic control system, most likely the transfer case engagement motor
