2002 Land Rover ~ Freelander - No heat coming from the heater

I can bring the 2.5L engines' temperature gauge reads normal after 5 minutes of operating the engine. Problen: the interior heater FAILS to kick in. The Heater dash mounted dial to the highest posaition. ''No HEAT is coming from Blower heater unit. Just cold air . The engine temperature is NORMAL. Radiator fluid appears normal, and is full. Air conditioning (cold) works fine. The V belt that drives the water pump is in new condition.
Can anyone give me a solution or recomendation to solve the proble please?.

Look for two water lines about 1 in in diameter running back toward the condensor unit in the firewall. On one of those lines will be a control. It is sometimes vacum controlled. When they are vacum conrolled they have a tendency to get stuck or you may have lost vacum to the unit. You can use a vacum tester and short piece of hose to test this to see if you have lost vacum or if it is stuck closed. Connect the test hose to the control on teh hose and apply vacum to the unit. If the valve opens you will get heat in the vehicle. If it does not open then it is stuck in the closed position and will need to be replaced in most cases.

Why is my 2008 Range Rover overheating still

Usually people check everything, change the thermostat and forget to check if the cooling fans work? The other possibility is that the water pump is failing.

The simplest thing would be if there is a big air lock in the system and the water isn't circulating properly. No heat coming out of vents is a symptom of that because the heater core is high up in the system behind the dash. Read this Tip I wrote. Raising the front of the vehicle is important to fill the heater core as well as putting heating on MAX.

2005 Land Rover Freelander aux fans staying on too

The first thing you need to note is if the temperature is normal whilst you are using the car, if it is then it is probably just a sticking thermostat and to be honest that is not a great problem, however if your car is running hot whilst driving you need to check your coolant level which can be seen in a spherical bottle at the rear (left side I think) of the engine compartment ( DO NOT OPEN THE TOP OF THIS BOTTLE UNTIL THE ENGINE IS COOL ) if the level of coolant is low top it up, also look for debris around the radiator grill and keep the air flow path open.

If everything seems ok but the fan still runs excessivly leave another thread and I will explain how to faulf find the circuit to check the thermostat.
