Amazing!.. .did you take it in to have it diagnosed?

Perhaps you should. The possible causes are numerous... most suspected is 'electrical' because it happens when you hit bumps.... loose wiring/connections

93 jeep cherokee 4.0 dies when stopping but idle till fuel gone

GREAT INFORMATION...

however, you were not clear about fuel pressure

was fuel pressure OK before and during the concern...30psi and have you check flow

PLUS...during the concern are you loosing SPARK? Coil is great suspect!

while the code for the crank sensor concerns me I'd start with the most common Jeep concern...the ASD (auto shut down realy)

when you start testing again remember to check the CKP output at the sensor and the CKP input at the computer...you might have a CKP circuit that is worn out

93 jeep grand cherokee. just got it running and the engine is running really rough how do I get it to run smoother. It has fresh gas but am worried it sat too long! 8 moths or so. Also the oil pressure...

If you worried about your gas, put in a bottle of sta-bil or ISOheat. This will remove all water and condensation from the gas. I would also replace your fuel filter, spark plugs and WIRES. Check for any vacuum hose leaks, if needed do compression test to verify that your gaskets aren't leaking.

If you have service/check engine light on, have a diagnostic test done to pinpoint the bad sensor or circuit that is setting it off.

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't start

The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.

'93 Grand Cherokee intermittently starts and runs

Hi, I had simmilar problem with my 1993 JGC . I ran out of gas and it would not start until the next day. Then it will start and run until I put the brakes on tho stop and then it will die. It starts right back up. Ended up being the voltage regulator in the ECC/ECM. It is at the mechanics shop right now waiting for the ECC to come in.I will post a follow up.

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Could be a sensor.I'm thinking more along the lines of a fuel pump or fuel filter. If the fuel pump is going bad..similar symptoms.Would be advisable to install a pressure gauge at the engine, and check fuel pressure when it's acting up.
