I need to know why my 1985 blazer is idling so bad. i know the plugs are bad in it and that it has many miles on it. is my plugs the only thing i need to change? i have a new altenator. i have changed the...

I good tune up may cure your issues but is not garanteed. with a vehicle this old I would change the ignition module(located in the distributor), ignition rotor, ignition cap, ignition wire and the spark plugs and oil change. Check the pick up coil in the distributor if corroded it may be easier just to get a new distributor. As I said no garantees but you stating the fact that it needs plugs this would be a good starting point to get a base line of how the engine is running

How do you replace an ignition starter switch on a chevy s10 1985? i need a diagram or something.

it is on the top of the steering column in the truck cab.remove battery cables. remove the lower portion of you dash.loosen the bolts on the plate that holds your column up to the dash. the column will pull down some. you may have a gear indicator tab/string that needs to be undone. remove column clamp blots all the way. the switch is on the top, it has a rod that moves and is postioned on the column. remove old switch, install new switch in th position where the old on was

1985 chevy k10 no power when i turn the key

Try adjusting the switch on the column. They have slots in them where the bolts go in so you can adjust them by sliding it up or down the column. Pull on the switch where the rod goes in and see if you get anything. Let me know what happens.
