The ABS/Traction-control light might be manually turned off or there is a fault in the system. It rechecks and reactivates when the car is restarted, so you are likely experiencing a system fault.

If the ABS light does not go out soon after the engine is started there is likely a problem in the control unit wiring or the pump. If the light comes on soon after the car is first in motion it's likely that a wheel sensor is the problem. If you are willing and able to put the car on jack stands, removing the wheel sensors and cleaning off any metal dust or filings usually clears the fault.

It could be sensors, pump, relay, or control unit.

Maybe you need removed the ABS pump and re-wired it completely, 9/10 times it's the wires in the ABS pump corroding, so most likely it's that.

Other, if a speed wheel sensor is bad, the abs light will come on when you use the brakes.

I hope help you with this.

The light is on because the ABS is not working. Selling the car with this type of defect is stupid. If you disable the light someone may get hurt because you are to cheap or lazy to fix the problem. Make an appointment with the dealer to have it fixed properly and have the piece of mind that you are not putting someones life in geopardy.

Abs and traction control dash lites come on and off at various time..sometimes never come on

Your abs and traction control lights should only come on when you start to slide while breaking(ABS), and when your wheels spin in place when excelerating(TC). If those 2 things don't happen, which with some people they never do, you should never see the lights come on. Only when those mechanisms are in use do the lights come on. And they will always flicker as that is what abs and tc are, intermitant surges to break up the constant. ABS does this for obvious reasons...anti lock break, so when you slide, the abs "taps" the breaks in short bursts so they don't lock up. TC "taps" the exclelrator when it slips. Those "taps" are what trigger the lights on your dash, which is why they flicker and don't stay on.

Abs light appeared on dashboard display for the first time tonight. Not sure what to do and is it likely to cost alot of money

the ABS light of course is warning u that the ABS has developed a fault and has been disabled by the ABS control module, the only way to find out what is wrong and how much it is going to cost to repair is having the dealer test the system for the trouble code that is set in the control modules memory whenever this light is turned on. Right now u have just regualr brakes, no ABS function.

Hi im thinking to buy 92 linc. owner said has abs issues cant find parts live in mass. cant get sticker with abs lite on should i buy it or is there any problems getting pts. thanks for help

dont buy it. the ABS CAN be one REALLY expensive system to repair and this car in particular, has A LOT of parts to go through. if you DO buy this car, expect to spend ATLEAST another $1000 on repairing the ABS. oh and by the way, that thousand more than likely, WILL NOT include paying a mechanic for labor. it's really your choice, but i wouldnt do it, as im assuming its not " just a blown fuse".

On each wheel, there is a sensor with some wires attached to it just behind the wheel assembly. Odds are one of the wires is worn out from the elements as they're all exposed.

Please don't just pull the bulb because a faulty abs system can cause serious injury

1996 Ford Mustang GT ABS Lamp on constantly

The ABS light is for panic stops. You have to have it put on a scan dino in order to find the right sensor that is not working or you could look at the sensor on the bcak side of the disc or drums and see if you see cracks in it. It might not be plugged in all the way since you had the axle replaced. Check all connection on back side of each brake. You would have to take it in to a dealer to find the sensor thats not working right they can pin point it.

Dear Sir , I have bought a used BMW module 728 , year of production is 1997,My two questions are :1- I have an ABS light problem and all fuses are ok so how could I solve this problem , 2- How can I...

I am not sure you can change the screen language, call BMW customer support. As far as the ABS light the 1st thing to do is run a ABS trouble code test on the ABS system module/computer, a dealer will have to do this, as long as the light is on the AHBS is dis-abled.

First, all these mechanics that you took your car to, did they have the full Volvo diagnostic software? In other words, were they able to access ALL computer systems that the lights were on for? If not, take your car to the Volvo dealer or a shop that has the proper software.
If the alternator does not charge or drops out while the engine is running, it will cause ALL the warning lights to come on.
Did you try adjusting the dash light dimmer control?
